You don’t need to remove the sway bar bolts. If you just remove the bolt that connects to the sway bar links on each side you can just push the sway bar down out of the way. Thanks for the video.

@@sirjolly81 was told by superior engineering they didn't need doing which was weird. Thought the uca bushes would need doing. I put it in a few shops after install and they couldn't find anything wrong with it which was weird also. The most recent place i took my car to said it maybe the washer on top that is causing the squeak.

Are you planning on doing anything to the drive terrain or no? doesn't the added height affect what drives the car? I want to do the same to my 2012 Pathfinder but lack any real mechanic knowledge.
@sirjolly81
@sirjolly81 5 жыл бұрын
Nicolas Riveros good question. A 2 inch lift won't affect the drive line. Or the front rear CV joints. Only extremely high lifts like 4" and up you need a lot more mods to fix the issues. Usually a diff drop kit gets involved etc. What you need to know is once lifted the front has no camber adjustment left. It will be positive. The rear is the same. Fix that with offset bushings rear and a front adjustable upper control arm.
@nicolasriveros1518

Great to know! One more question, about the rear... is all you need to change spring shocks? Or are the new bushings necessary?

I have a 2011 R51, and I can see the value in a lift like this because the belly on mine is always scraping over stumps, rocks and anthills, even on 'good' bush roads. Would the axles be OK with the strain of bigger wheels or is this not too extreme a lift?
@sirjolly81
@sirjolly81 Жыл бұрын
a 2" lift is the easiest. Depending on your location in the world you can do a body lift and much larger tyres 33 - 35". The R51 drive train is relatively strong. if you havent already get some decent bash guards. Especially for the sump. Saved me a few times.

@@sirjolly81 based in Zambia, where the Pathfinders are rare import from South Africa so spares have been a nightmare, had to ship Pedder's control arms for the rear all the way from Aus, only to see now that the diff isolator bushes are done too (also a great video by the way!). Have a new bash plate from sump all the way to the back of the transfer case, and this has helped a lot to get a feel when it starts tickling that there might be trouble from what we call a high 'middle man' of a bush track! Question about the bushes in the upper control arms that are off-centre: did I understand that these are specially designed like that to help extend the length of the arm somewhat, and the stock ones are symmetrical? Or did I miss something?

The bar came from BC custom fabrication in Perth - Australia. They currently are not making more but they could still have stock left over. They had three left when i bought this close to the date i posted the video. Email: sales@bcproducts.com.au also check out there Facebook page (BC products 4x4 accessories) for more information. I'm having issues its an Ironman 1.5 inch lift kit and the uca makes contact with the strut mount preventing me from putting in the lower control arm
@sirjolly81
@sirjolly81 3 жыл бұрын
Your lower control arm should be connected before the shock/spring is installed. you can have the upper control arm removed completely and install it last. Just jack up the lower control arm to compress the spring to get room. all d40/r51 have contact with the shock tower with stock UCA. you can remove some material from the tower and UCA. I got aftermarket UCA to gain more room.

Hello, a question, I'm about to install a 2-inch nissan pathfinder 2005 ranch kit. The question is if I need to install bushing
@sirjolly81
@sirjolly81 2 жыл бұрын
It is recommended to install front adjustable upper control arms and rear camber adjust uca bushes. But plenty of people don't but are adjusted to max after an alignment. Talk to the tyre shop and see how they go with settings.

@@sirjolly81 replacing the UCA is recommended if you want your steering lighter. 2nd thing. If you fit bigger tyres like 32", 33". You need new front UCA and rear upper uca bushes for alignment. If you don't change bigger tyres, its still fine.

They are known to have a leaking intercooler, also the crank case ventilation is made from cheap plastic which, near the engine, likes to melt due to the heat and then you basically have to take the whole car apart
