@@Joshdrake06 this is the BBC coverage so it’s meant to have a British bias. I’d say Martin Cross and the other British world rowing commentators are very fair on the whole. It’s Sarah Cook who shows the most bias towards her country.

Can we please get rid of British bias in the rowing commentary, ever?
@MostynARC8 ай бұрын
As a Brit I very much dislike Gary Herbert's ridiculously biased commentaries. But remember this was recorded from the BBC who were broadcasting for a British audience. I wonder what the NZ commentary would be like? They raced a lot of times but this is the closest Reed and Hodge ever got to Bond and Murray. If you can find a different version of this great race, enjoy that instead, or just turn the volume down

@@MostynARC Although I do live in New Zealand now, I was never really rooting for NZ team, but I did feel privileged to witness the great rivalry between these two crews. There were, however, times when we were watching the races live in Europe through EuroSport or similar channel (so not a BBC). There were instances when British crews were fourth or fifth place, almost out of the screen, and the commentary was just going on and on about British winter rowing camps, trial races and injuries that their crew members went through, completely ignoring what was happenning at front of the race. It did make me turn the volume down at times. Notwithstanding that, I do understand that this is BBC commentary, so some bias is naturally expected.
