But still, he could not cover the truth... Even though he loves Dong Yi, this is definitely not right. It could bring upon corruption if a criminal by governmental standards is forgiven solely because the king loved her... I really like Dong Yi, but I think she was right in that the king should not lie to his people.

My heart tears into pieces watching the king and Dong Yi scene. In the name of love his totally out of control and willing to throw all the things he had even his throne and position. It's really hard and painful for both of them.

I've watched this drama since but am still watching it now 2018 am so pleased that YOU TUBE still uploaded it and for that am very thankful!!!. Its a beautiful drama showing the lives of royals in the Joseon Era and those who comes from low clsss family but despite that they strived to have a better life for the good of their country just like DONG YI and the King just looks good together because they have the same sentiments for making their country better and the King is just and a good ruler of his people...

The king in real nhistory was quite a strategic man. He was smart enough to have the political forces under his rule because he made rotation in power.

뭐 드라마니까 숙종도 이런 식으로 묘사가 가능하구나라고 넘어가는게 맞지 않나 생각해요. 아무리 역사 기반인 것이 사극이라지만 각색은 기본에 픽션도 들어가니까요. 2020년의 얘기지만, 그렇게치면 김태희 주연인 장옥정 그 드라마도 장옥정을 너무 선인으로만 그린 듯한 말도 안되는 설정이 있잖아요.

동이 역사왜곡이죠. 숙종 전형적인 로맨티스트 노놉 저건 걍 드라마 입니다. 실제 숙종은 변덕스럽고 우유부단함 첫아들이자 세자인 경종을 세자자리 에서 폐세자 까지 하려 이이명과 독대 까지함
