There are quite a few options, but no real kits for the Q7. I'm leaning towards the NAPA FIL 4770 Remote hydraulic filter base ($55). It's fairly compact and it accepts a bunch of different filter sizes including CAT 1R-0750 and 1R-0749. Those are both 2 micron fuel filters, just one is higher capacity. The hard part will be finding a good spot to mount the thing, there really isn't a ton of extra space under the hood. I'm only about 7000 miles until my warranty is up so will be likely attacking this idea in the spring!

I won't hurt it, but I wouldn't consider it necessary. Given the size of the hose fittings and it being mounted horizontal there is a lot of potential for making a big mess. If you don't have the tool to run the pump you can cycle the ignition to force the low pressure pump on. If it's a real quiet day you can hear it run, then cycle again maybe 10 times.

No issues here, just routine maintenance. You should change the fuel filter every two oil changes. If you have a problem you are chasing I'm glad to try and help! Just let me know what is going on.

@@smsauce Im having an issue with my 2011 Q7 TDI Quatro. The interior vibrates like a massage chair when rpm goes below 850 at idle, drive and reverse. Drives smooth like butter, plenty of power. Goes away as soon as i raise idol to 900. What should i start replacing?

@MRG MRG Lots of questions to start, are there any engine or transmission codes? Does it shake if you shift into neutral? Does it shake even when the engine is warmed up? What is the temperature outside where you live?

@@smsauce no codes , full drive cycle complete. It does not shake like a misfire just vibrates very fast like a rattle felt through the chair. It happens in neutral, park, reverse and drive. I love in AZ temp is 60. Shakes a little less after warm but still feel it

@MRG MRG It could be a failed motor mount, most things I would suspect would come with a code from the ECU. Do you have a higher level scanner like VCDS or OBD11? There are minor codes that won't trigger a check light, or could be one pending.

I currently get my oil changed at the dealership since I am still covered under the emissions warranty. I do this so if my DPF clogs up they cannot try and deny a warranty claim. The place I was going to order oil and filter from was around $120 for a kit, my dealer charges me $160 and will give me a loaner vehicle for the day. If you want to do your own changes I would recommend ecstuning.com or fcpeuro.com

I have been using Pennzoil Platinum Euro-L Full Synthetic 5W-30 for almost 75K now. My dealer said as long as it was a full synthetic 5W-30 Euro, I was good. Walmart has the 5qt jugs for $24ish. I get 2 and by the 4th change I have enough leftovers to do a free one.

@@shonerowley thanks for the reply. I looked at those but they don’t have that code 0007 or something I can’t renter so I was afraid to add it. Any issues with the oil that you are using?

@@shefkipajaziti1181 No issues to report. I even had the dealer do a change once using my oil which they were of course hesitant to do but did it because it met their standards. Saved me $52

There are a few heated debates about that floating around. All the scanner does is run the low pressure pump to get as much air out as possible. Some folks worry that too much air can damage the injectors. In my injector seal video I forgot to prime and it just cranked over for a while before firing up. Realistically you could just cycle the ignition on and off 5-10 times. The pump will run for 2-3 seconds each time and serve the same purpose. If you plan on doing more of your own work the couple hundred $ for a nice tool that can access all the modules and activate stuff is really worth it. As anything else try at your own risk :)

@@smsauce i really appreciate the reply. Just wanted to make sure before I do this myself!! I have a 2012 tdi prestige from Europe. I'm the only one in the US with it!! Just ordered the Mahle filter. Should receive it by tomorrow!! The c stealership wants to much lol. Evertime I asked them if a fuel filter change came with a oil change they told me yes smh the diesel filters been in the car good knows how long. I bought it part December. When I'm parking the car idle fluctuates & check engine light is on. I'm pretty sure its the filter being it hasn't been changed!. Damn oil change for diesel is 225 us dollars 🤦🏽‍♂️. They were charger me 130 before then told me they made a mistake being its a diesel. I'm like that's not my fault keep charging me 130 lol. Now im hoping they didn't give me regular oil being that it's a diesel engine. All in all truck runs great power is immense & gets great fuel milage!!

@@doelife Keep that receipt from the possible wrong oil. If your DPF clogs you will have proof it wasn't your fault. Does an imported vehicle like that get the same extended warranty the North American cars do?

@@smsauce shockingly it actually did!! They changed made the computer compatible to use in America & Europe. & I most certainly will I really hope the DPF doesn't clog. Looking to do a delete tune & down pipe in the future!!.
