My favorite part of this is how Darrell said "You got it! Mikey!" just like when Michael won the Daytona 500 in 2001.

Everytime i hear Darrel yell "Mikey!" I start tearing up

I always loved how supportive Darrell was of Michael. Everyone knows that Darrell was a million times better than him but Darrell is just so humble and wants to give his brother all of the praise. True brotherly love!

Micheal Waltrip was a good friend and former Driver for Dale Earnhardt Sr, I bet he was proud watching.

You can tell how much Earnhardt meant to everyone.

Given the circumstances of this win, you just can't dislike this unless you don't have a heart.

I won’t lie, watching this 8 years later I can feel the emotion. I know Michael felt some form of closure in winning that 10 years later. Hearing DW in the booth saying what he said really brought the emotion. I know Dale was probably looking down with a big smile

Unbelievable when Dale Jr comes back in the 3 car and wins the race and Michael comes back in the #15 and wins the race exactly 10 years later.

I was in tears when he won this race 10 years after we lost Dale and I couldn’t believe it!

I teared up and was so glad Michael Waltrip won.

I was really glad to see Michael win this, 10 years to the day where he won his first Daytona 500 and Dale Earnhardt's fatal crash. RIP Dale, Nascar still isn't the same.

I honestly think the reason people hate on Mikey so much is jealousy. Won two Daytona 500s, a multi millionaire, had a smokeshow of a wife. Sure he crashed a lot, but Elliott Sadler crashed just as much and never got the hate.

My god. Let him enjoy the moment and stop making him relive Dale's death.

Sometimes those who need healing from an incident that shapes their whole life, finds it years later in an unexpected way. Im glad Mikey got his. Srs death really affected him deeply.

This was pretty awesome for a guy who loves the sport. He was jipped of celebrating his first, he never forgot Dale. He always mentions the Earnhardt family and gives them praise.

And Darrell Waltrip sounded just like he did in 2001 called the 500

penalizing mike is biggest mistake cause broken spoiler isnt mike fault... But glad he keeps the win it brings great memories..

That damage reminds me of Mark Marton at Martinsville. He had rear damage and his spoiler was WAAAYY up in the air. Martin said after the race that he could almost go full throttle through to corner at martinsville. He gained 13 spots in the last three laps.

what do you mean rules are rules ? you cant penalize someone for damage that he didnt intntionally do and those are actually the rules

So in all, Michael Waltrip had 4 Cup wins, 11 Xfinity wins, and this Truck win, for a total of 16 career wins. Not too bad actually.

I’m not saying nascar is rigged but, 10 years later, to the day Michael wins a Daytona race. Then, in the same weekend, the Daytona 500 was won by a 20 years old, it took Dale 20 years to win the Daytona 500. After that, in the summer Nationwide race at Daytona, Dale Jr won in the 3 car, 10 years after his fathers death. Also in the same year, at homestead, tony Stewart wins his 3rd Nascar championship. In the 2018 Daytona 500, Austin Dillion, 20 years after Dale won, wins in the 3 car.

When it happens under normal circumstances then NASCAR will bring the driver into the pits to get it repaired. On the last lap there's no time to, so, no penalty.

Sorry, but the end to this race was a joke. Before anyone whines at me, let me explain why. Mikey's rear spoiler was broken & the commentators noticed that under the lasst caution, so surely the NASCAR officials had to notice it, but of course they did nothing. Mikey may have gotten his vengeance win, but it was NOT a legit win...
