Sir, thank you so much!! I had JUST finished replacing my oil pan gasket and transmission cooler lines only to find that my vents weren’t blowing air. My heart sank considerably after doing all that work, and also considering that it’s the middle of June! But I quickly popped the cover off, gave the blower motor a few “fist bumps,” and my cab is now full of cold air. You have saved the day!

My son bought a 2008 chevy Silverado today and the blower motor wasn't working and I searched up this video and he went out after watching this and couldn't get the bolt out and smacked it and it worked. Your a life saver. Thank you very much and my son thanks you too.

I had the same problem with the blower/fan on my 2011 GMC 2500HD, followed el hombre's advice and returned the $43 dollar fan relay I blindly purchased, because one whack was all it took for that fan to blow! It worked! I didn't bother taking the cover off. There is a small rectangular cutout in the cover where the blower can been seen and felt within. As suggested before, I wacked on the underside of the cover where the fans is and boom (with the fan powered), the fan came on. I have heard criticism of people who use KZfaq as a go to to fix things, but hey, it works. Thanks!

I got the same problem with my Silverado as of this morning. After I watched this small video, I said this guy must be joking? He's not serious. Had no intention on even trying it. Then I start reading the comments here... I'm like really!! Well I didn't even bother removing the cover, I just hit hit at the right spot with the cover on, and sure enough... the blower starts working. I'd like to say 2 things to el Panin... sorry for my initial though you being a real joker... AND thanks a lot for putting up this info. You saved me a lot of time and money.

All of a sudden my air didn't work - no blowing or anything in my 2013 silverado 1500. I figured it was a blown fuse or something that's gonna cost me a lot of cash to fix. NOPE. If your air isn't blowing, seriously follow this video. I took out the one bolt furthest towards the passenger door, pulled down the plastic far enough to solid smack the blower with my socket wrench AND IT WORKS HAHAHAHA I never would of imagined. Thanks for saving me a trip to the shop!!!!!

Mine does this about 90% of the time after vehicle is turned off. Go to start it and then no fan. Is it something inside maybe fell threw the dash? Or a loose connection?

I found this to work but after checking things a little further I found that the wiring harness connector had melted a little bit. No connection. Tap it a little a connection and back running. Replace the harness for less than$ 20.
