@@oJAK3yy not really. Over 2.5 years or so, the main issues have been suspension/shocks and a new rear wiper motor. The engine and gearbox are fine. It’s a reliable car that will keep going as long as you make sure you take care of it and service it.

Love vag motors been that I drive a 17 year old audi a4 1.9tdi avant quattro needs a few upgrades but for what I use it for there is no need as of yet.

I cannot find any review of an Octavia mk2 with "Sound System" option with 12 speakers. Even this one that is nicely specced with RNS510 doesn't have it

Does the mk2 petrol have the same engine as the golf gti?

I honestly dont know. It's possible.

For sure it does! Everything structural in front of the windscreen is the same as a mk5 gti. This means you can use the same engine mods, suspension mods etc! I have a mk2 with a stage 2 and it's the ultimate daily. Is a money pit though.
