A sneak peak into the bus driver life in one of the leading Type C "Conventional" US school bus models. We go into the pros and cons versus the rival model, the International IC CE. This particular bus is rated for 44 passengers, but it's the same length as our 54-passenger buses. I think it's because the seats are all the narrower width.
Apologies that this video is a bit more sea-sick than some of the others. This bus has a suspended driver's seat, as opposed to the fixed seat on my bus, so the picture does bob up and down 🤢

Some time in the future, I hope you get to drive and review a C2 with a Detroit DD5 (5.1L 4-cylinder turbo diesel). They're extremely quiet, take off reasonably quickly, but I don't think they do too well in hilly NJ. Thank you for this rare commentary on a C2 with the ISB!

You should have deactivated the Child Checkmate system even though it operates all the same. I love the Voice Prompts that it gives.

Yep, I just ran one yesterday. I think we book some of them out of our local office directly, and some come from a central charter office in the company

Our newer buses at our location are IC CEs. We just got a delivery of 3 brand new ones this week. Last year we received a few C2s that were older, either transfers from another location, or purchased from another company/district. This is the first time in my 3 years at this location that we've received brand new equipment.
