I have got 2013 4d for two years. Traveled to a long distance twice. It is real excellent car, comfortable and good driving.

2013 Civic for 10k is a good used car.

so the 2013 is basically 80% the same as the 2012 just added some chrome a backup camera and a few other small things

im drivin a 2012 civic exl for 3 years without any problems whatsoever. Its a highly reliable car all these -ve comments are probably from ford or gm junk lovers.

I sorta thought the 2012's exterior was a bit more, I don't know... Sleek maybe? The 12's outside in my opinion was way nicer... The inside of the 13' should've been in the 12'

I've noticed you can alter how you drive and get the same gas mileage as the ECON mode would do. I prefer to drive with ECON on and the A/C is still strong. The acceleration is slower, though. I love mine! SO HAPPY!

aaaand unfortunately the look stayed exactly the same until 2016 :/ wanna get a 2016 instead of a 2015 just because the look is soooo different but it is not worth the 3 to $4000 price difference lol

price wise it will be similar. i suggest you keep the 12 until you're in a good position equity wise on the 12 civic before you do anything.

This is not an exact comparison. The 2012 is an LX and the 2013 is an EX.

The cool thing is that the 2013 Civic inside and out seems to have morphed into sort of a 2007 Accord as far as size and style/design. The new Accords however have sort of morphed into Honda's version of a Toyota Avalon. Not so much as style but size/class. They are pretty much land yachts as far as any traditional Honda is concerned. Also, I have to say the Civic has a more attractive interior. Honda should put the 2 tier dash in every vehicle they make. It looks awesome especially in the dark.

Not sure about the 2013 model but on my 2012 I get 28mpg around town with the Econ button off. With it on I am getting 33-35 depending on how much I use the AC. On highway with Econ on I have gotten 40+.

My son is 6'3" and drives a 2012 EX. He likes it a lot. As Pedro pointed out though, not much room for someone sitting behind him.

2013 civic looks like a matured car, a lot of chrome and fake leathers, it will definitely boosts sales on a more matured buyers, 2012 design is more of a boytoy approach with a lot of rooms for modifications, glad i bought the 2012 whatever any reviewers say about the car and also primed for racing tuners coz its lighter than the 2013

Gotta love how much critics flipped out on the 2012...looks like a perfectly decent car. Still, can't complain about all the improvements that were made, guess there's some value in over-the-top critiques. 😅 We got a more streamlined vehicle as a result.

I have thought the same regarding the 2 tier dash. Having that information almost as an HUD is fantastic. I would really appreciate it if they put that in the Accord and CR-V.

This was an unprecedented major refresh after only one year and basically Honda giving the middle finger to all it's 2012 Civic owners. I own a 2012 EX Coupe. My next new car will be a Toyota. Thanks for nothing Honda!

sorry late response. mainly exterior and interior changes. no real performance changes other than the sound deadening materials

go with an EX or an lx. the fuel efficiency is not too dramatic. maybe a few miles per gallon better

My civic 2012 has back up camera. I don't know why you said there is none in all variants of 2012.

Wow very nice car compared to '12 model yet its the same Generation. So I got few questions, The ECON button is it only for the highway driving and is it dramatic in fuel efficiency? Also if I had to pick a model with blue-tooth and cloth Black/Charcoal seats, which model should I choose? I like leather seats, but for everyday car, with hot summers and cold winters leather is not very comfortable.

thats what the paper want you to think, with added insulations underneath and thicker windshields its just common sense, they just want the costumers to see that 2013 is in every way better than 2012, and 2012 from 2011 etc, after the 9th gen is thru lets just wait what year model will evolve as a classic

just what I was looking for! basically I'd be paying for different seat material, bluetooth, different grilles, adjustible arm rest, back up camera and different material inside the car? been searching for the differences between those two cars. because they has both looked the same model wise. what about performance? any changes to pursuede my decision as to which one to buy? I have to admit, it would be nice to have the luxury of all the those nick knacks in the 2013

They shouldn't had released the 2012 model so early. The redesign would of been better if they took the time to release it during the end of the year like how the last gen civic was introduced. (Fall 2005 vs Spring 2011)

Ass soon as the 2012 was received, everyone knew that there had to be a redesign, it was ugly and a step back from the previous generation. I'm not trying to be mean or anything, if Honda stayed with the other design for 4 more years they were going to suffer more because of it.

I also think that the 1012 is much nicer. the front is more modern (remindes me the insight or prius) maybe the inside panel has better materials. but i dont care.. the civic 1012 is the prettiest civic ever !!! happy that they changed it . because it will keep my unique !!!!

Sucks I way prefer the front of the 2013 but the rear of the 2012. And sucks they put way nicer interior in the 2013s
