This is interesting. Typically Toyota wires the door and dash speakers in parallel to one channel and then uses 6 ohm speakers. The head unit is only 4 channels. You can put 4ohm dash and door speakers in and leave it running parallel and it’ll be fine. However, I recommend using a filter for a 6x9 speaker instead. You’ll get better mids w/o threatening the small speakers with the low freqs.

What if I just 4ohm switched it and kept the original crossovers wired?

Does the cone move at all after using the plastic piece back on, can you feel it move when you put your fingers on it? I know video doesn't capture small rapid movement at all. Thanks in advance

If I just swapped speakers and just chose to have the 2ohm load with a 2ohm stable amp. Would the speakers be louder in the front than the back?

The front dash, can the Camry fit a bigger tweeter like a 4inch? Looking at skar 3inch and 1inch super tweets. I have a 2013 Camry SE and need to know the size of tweeters I can fit on the front dash?

You’re on the right track being worried about your ohm load but you’re doing it all wrong. As the other commenter said all you did was connect the wrong frequency filter (crossover) to the new speaker. There is no way to change the ohm load your headunit sees when both the door and dash speaker are connected. If they are both 4 ohm speakers, your headunit will see 2 ohms. Remove that crossover you connected and it will sound way better. As for your head unit seeing 2 ohms, it probably won’t have issues.

Looking to change my tweeters. Also buying the same exact tweeter from this video for the same car. From my understanding plug and play? Simply swap old with new no other steps necessary?
@SenorDennis3 жыл бұрын
Yep but you might want to search google for “Camry plug and play tweeter wiring harness” so you don’t have to cut the stock wires and you can just plug the new speaker in.

@@SenorDennis yeah but those have NO crossover and still need wired to this original crossover. How do you expect a tweeter to play 40hz? Cause it goes even lower than that without the crossover, just tested with DD am3s. You WILL blow your tweeter or small mid without that filter.

I did it and all went fine but now there is a hissing sound when the volume is lower or muted. Any idea what might be the issue? I did make sure to wire the correctly.

Hey man I want to keep my OEM head unit and people have been saying that if that's the case then I shouldn't replace the tweeters. What do you think?
@majinbenproductions1038 Жыл бұрын
Just make sure you wire that crossover back in there so you’re not hitting lows and killing your tweeter or 3”

I have the head unit and all 6 speakers replaced. I also have 2 down fire 10" pioneer subs. The 6 speakers are powered by an Alpine KTP amp which I highly recommend. The other 4 speakers are Alpine SPS 619. Mind blowing speakers for the money in my opinion.
