What Lovely sounds The 16 and 8s in Great are amazing So much to Like

Yay! My other favorite organ in town. Brilliant recital by Ken Cowan today, 10 years after he played the dedicatory recital! This organ plays d*** near anything!

Magnificent room. I remember playing and falling in love with the old Aeolian Skinner during Joe Schreiber's tenure. I've heard some phenomenal choral singing and organ playing in that room.

I was part of building this organ in 2012 :) Other than hearing individual ranks being voiced in the shop, I rarely ever hear the completed instrument demonstrated, played, or see the completed and finished interior. I usually build the wood pipes 16' and smaller, repair/releather old wood pipes, build walkboards, ladders, swell shade assemblies, swell box walls and roof, blower box. floor frames. I remember those black steel gratings in the second case to let the sound thru.

Very nice organ! Lots of variety in each division.

It's nice to hear the Dobson. My memories are of the Aeolian-Skinner when my father was on the ministerial staff of the church and I sang in the choir under Joe Schreiber's direction. I spent many late nights and have fond memories playing the old organ in the dark sanctuary. As such, I was more than a bit reticent about a new organ. So it's a relief to have my reservations ameliorated. Very nicely done, Dobson!

JOSEPH W. SCHREIBER (1930-2007) WOULD PROBABLY ROLL OVER IN HIS GRAVE IF HE KNEW THE SKINNER ORGAN WAS DISCARDED.
