hey man, I dont have the regular CBR1000RR I bought the SP Repsol 2015. Its a very good bike but you need tire size 190/60 rear w matching front profile to really corner it. The power is unreal and very smooth, im very happy. mind you the regular cbr is very different seating and position wise. The bike feels a little "top heavy" but it is really a dreamy smooth bike, the dash is nice too. Go for it! I came from riding a Triumph daytona for 4-5 years, before that, gixxers, 400s, etc

@joshholymoses 9 жыл бұрын
Daniel Bocotan my cbr does 128kph but it takes awhile to get it past 112kph. From what I've seen, the Ninja 250 has better higher end speed so I'd say it'd get up there, but wouldn't take hills well and would take awhile. Dunno why you'd be going that fast on a little 250 to begin with.

Hi, I just want to go 130 at the most (highway speed in Austria) , asked 140 because if it can reach 140 then it can consistently do 130

Daniel Bocotan I would say it would, but probably not as safe to use for those speeds. Wind gusts and acceleration speeds will make you the grandpa of the highway.

DGRWPF I started on an SV650, which I found to be perfect for me. But I can totally understand why people would want to start on a 125 or 250 or whatever. In the end, even small bikes are really fun when you start out, I had as much fun on my mates' 125 as I did on my SV650 in many ways. There's no need to start on anything bigger, no need at all.

Wow, starting on a litre bike, I've got one of these in a 2016 and it's bike number 31 after more than 30 years of riding, still has the ability to catch you out if you're tired, inattentive for any reason etc, please don't buy one as a first bike, just asking for a steep learning curve. And no, 8k is nowhere near full noise.

i´d say that someone who starts on a liter bike could not enjoy it in any way (except maybe in the straight but riding isnt about straights), Startet on a honda nc700 years ago and rode over 50.000km on it, and last week i bought a 2010 firbalde. It rides like a dream but man that power...

I attended a Honda testride event yesterday and got to drive a CBR1000RR. I've owned a Ninja 650 and a R6. This video is almost exactly the same way I felt while driving the bike. Unreal experience. I'll likely be getting a literbike as my next bike. So much fun to ride. And not as annoying of a powerband as my r6 was.

I can relate to the feeling of trying to deploy all the power you've got in your vehicle and then having the amount of power scare you into letting go of the throttle long before you've let the vehicle give you everything it's got. My first time was in my Celica when flooring the throttle in a tunnel. The combination of that mind blowing sound amplified by the tunnel and the kind of speed and acceleration I've never experienced before made for one the best feelings I can imagine. But it must be a whole new ball game to do it on a full on sports bike than an entry level sports car. I'm planning to find out if that suspicion is correct after a couple of years when I'll hopefully acquire one of these.

The feeling of your stomach dropping on a sports bike when you hit the power band and all the power is going to the rear wheel is nuts. I just got a Honda CBR1000RR ('06) recently. Had a GSX-R750 before that, which I hit a deer with.. totaled it.

People saying 250-1000 is a bad idea should keep in mind this bike is probably smoother and easier to ride than a 600 in some respects. Especially if you consider that buying a 600 used you will most likely buy a really bad bike, whereas litre bikes are much more respected. I have ridden a 600 and a litre bike and I consider the litre bike easier. Smoother, less spiky, more predictable (power everywhere, way easier to get the handle for it because it gives as much power as you tell it to, no less, no more). Might be just me.

My first bike was a Yamaha DT80 (74cc) for two years, when I was 17. Twenty two years after I passed my bike full licence and straight away I bought my new Fireblade. It is such an easy bike to ride. The power is there for any crazy stuff you want to do, but you have to take it easy. You will learn, that the faster you go the less time for correct any mistakes made and the easier to crash, big time. I have done some track days for the last two years. It does help you very much to know your bike.

Seeing you on that bike, talking us through it AS YOU GO is just amazing. For me, a really new dude on two wheels, this is something that gave me respect for too much power. Not that you can have too much, but, you know. I love it, not more to say. I wouldnt mind cruising with 60kmph there. Thank you for sharing!!! - Greatings from Denmark

I did the same exact thing. I bought a ninja 250, got tired of it after a year & a half, went to the dealership to buy a used CBR600RR that I had seen advertised there only to learn it had just been sold. Long story short a salesmen talked me into the CBR1000RR. I was nervous & in love the entire ride home but it didn't take as much getting used to as I though it would. These are tremendously forgiving & easy to ride bikes, as long as you have a responsible right wrist and some common sense.

Tom, don't know if you read the comments often, but I gotta tell you, I feel the same way, with your experience in the video, now that I own one. It's docile if you want it to be, but can turn into beast mode when you start giving it gas. Coming from a 10' zx6r, it's a very welcoming change, and a lot more comfortable too. Also agree, that for a complete newbie, this bike would be a very very bad choice, while cruising is fine, like you said, getting off the line is a bit tricky. Cheers

I learned how to ride on a 93 CBR 600F2 and it was a decently forgiving bike to learn on. The first couple of weeks were interesting but I never binned it and learned a lot on that bike. I remember at the time (remember this was 1997) when I was deciding what to try out I had the same thoughts as you and was considering buying an EX 250 (similar to your Ninja 250 back then) but decided, wisely, that I'd quickly get the hang of the 250 and then be miserably bored with it. So I decided to start with a 600 and even though the learning curve was steeper, I ended up having that bike for 6 years before moving on to a 2005 CBR 600RR. It wasn't until I had mastered two 600's that I finally tried out my 2006 ZX-10R which was silly fast. In fact, I sold that bike about 5 years ago and am about to get back into riding again and have decided to go with another 600 as the liter bike was simply too much. The 600's are still plenty fast enough to have good fun on but remain manageable enough to not be so worried about all the time...

Friken amazing riding a literbike for the first time especially since I never owned a supersport befre it. i learned on a 600 Katana which is only about 64hp so the upgrade to a literbike really was a huge step up. Never regret going to a big bike.

I rode a 125 Kymco scooter for a year before buying my '08 CBR1000RR big boy bike 8 months ago. Definitely not a great idea to learn on this thing, but a little restraint with your throttle wrist will keep you alive. I love the part about the Need For Speed 'blur' that happens when you accelerate hard. Totally true!

The Blade is known for its midrange which is exactly where Tom is riding, Top end on a Blade is less than other litre bikes say S1000RR or ZX10R

I can't wait until I developed the skills to ride the 600 and then 1000! I'm on 250 right now! From your reactions, it must have been a BLAST.

He'll never go back to a 250cc now :) .. Just like he said a bike is only as fast as you twist the throttle.. His excitement was fun to watch.

Yasar Sert I crashed mine after about one year while on a run through the mountains. Short story is: the round turned left ... I didn't.

Can't wait to be able to try a 600 or a 1000 bike. When I first got my KTM 125cc EXC it scared me a bit, so I'm sure a 1000 would be absolutely insane

Yep. Just got an 06 CBR1000RR after having an RVF400. What an experience! Goes like hell. Definitely need to be restrained... so so easy to speed, even by accident... awesome stuff :-)
