I took a 2014 wrangler for a test drive a few days ago. The body roll was concerning, the handling was not great, and the braking distance was less then ideal. I also know the fuel mileage is not the best. But that's comparing it to a 2 door sport coupe that I been driving for years. So the road use was passable for a tank. Then took it in some mud and through some deeper snow. The smile on my face was as big as I have ever had after doing that, and I went to the dealership with the thing covered in mud, and I was so sad I had to give it back. I then signed the papers so I could get a black one with a 6 speed, and I am happy to say my first wrangler will be here any day now, as it is on its way up on the car carrier. As for the daily driver, I don't even care. I am still going to sell my car and just drive this. The amount of happiness I get from driving this is too great. As for the extra fuel that it uses, I will just call it my happiness tax.

I've always respected the off-road capability of the Jeep Wrangler. I rode in a 1976 Jeep CJ5 Wrangler Levi Stauss Edition and it was an eye opening experience. I'd never ridden in a vehicle with more NVH levels or a choppier ride before that day. I'm sure they're better now, but I'll never forget just how bad that CJ5 was. Keep it up Tony!!

I just learned that you don't - the package I was referring to was actually a carrying case for the freedom tops that I removed. the soft top is sold separately I'm told - but I hear that it can be a bit of a chore to use it!

I've always loved the Wrangler, but couldn't deal with that sluggish ride. Now that I know the 2012-up has 285 HP. Will definitely be looking at this when I replace my Liberty in the future.

For a weekend off road vehicle, buy something used,, you won't go into deep depression if you nick or scratch it, IMO there are better choices for everyday use, Tony is back, folks!
