I'll never forget that night, my brother called me one day with tickets when I was living tip of far northern Qld... 3days later, Suncorp Stadium, beautiful game of rugby league at it's highest quality, match winner 30meters right before my eyes..... QUEENSLANDER

The games during “the streak” were noticeably more spiteful than what we currently have. Not saying the current games aren’t fast and physical but you don’t get the feeling of widespread personal dislike between the players.

It was so pleasuring to see Pearce miss the field goal by about just as much as Gallen ran up towards the wide side rather than the centre of the field on the tackle before it, classic.

I was living on the tip of Australia, my brother rang me saying he had 2 tickets, 2 days later I was on a plane... To watch Cronk 30 meters in front of me nail that beautiful field goal... That game was rugby league art, Beautiful !!!

Coming from a NSW fan the streak was some of my favourite memories of origin. The games were so intense, series were decided by hardly any points and there seemed to be this brutal desperation brought out in both teams. Even though we lost for so many years they were such high quality games from beginning to end, besides the blowout scorelines. I used to look forward to origin more than anything back then, maybe I've just gotten older and life has changed, but even now that we're winning I don't find myself as excited for the next origin series like I used to during this time

I’m absolutely glad that we don’t have Mitchell Pearce as NSW Halfback now, well he WAS part of last year’s NSW Origin winning squad but QLD are now devoid of Slater, Smith, Cronk, Thurston and Inglis.

Lombardo Antonio it’s just a normal rugby league game except the teams are made up of players from that state. the blue team is players born in New South Wales. The maroon team is made up of players born in Queensland which are states in Australia.
