Exactly what I have to do tomorrow with my wife's Toyota RAV4 2012 this video helped out a lot. It's nice going into a problem already knowing what the answer is.

This video saved me $300! The local body shop wanted $150 just to diagnose and estimated another $150 for labor to repair. No thanks! Followed the instructions and 30 minutes later, the window was back on track working perfectly. 1. The left bolt was out, just like in this video. It had fallen deep into the left side of the door, so I bought a $5 magnetic pickup tool at wal-mart. Make sure you have this before you start the job. I had to poke around a bit but it eventually caught the bolt and came right out. 2. Buy Loctite 232 and apply as instructed. This bolt is notorious for falling out over time and you don't want to have to do this again. 3. There's a second bolt on the right side. After you reinstall the fallen out bolt, plug the connector back into the switch and slowly raise/lower the window until you can see the right side bolt through a cutout on the sheet metal. Carefully remove it, do not drop it down into the door, it will be hard to recover even with a magnet tool. Apply the loctite as instructed, then tighten bolt. Make sure up and down works great before you reassemble the door panel. 4. Don't be scared to pull hard on the clips. They are designed to be very tight and you will need to use some elbow grease to pull on the sides and bottom of the main door panel. There's a tiny chance one might break, but none did and you do need to pull hard before you can lift the panel off the door. 5. You should be removing a total of three screws. One behind the plastic panel behind the door opener, and two behind the plastic panel on the main handle of the door. They are very different looking screws so you don't need to remember where they each go.

Window came off track as I was leaving girlfriends house, snowing and cold. It was a holiday so didn't figure to be able to get the car in the shop. Your video was a life saver! Just what happened, the bolt fell out. Only recommendation would be to include how to pull off the covers and panel, found another video for that, but your video was spot on! Thanks for sharing.

This video is 100% correct... we even found the exact bolt laying there. Front bolt fine, regulator fine. Replaced back bolt... everything works. Take your time with the clips. 2011 RAV doesnt have bottom clips... just mushroom type anchors that you can slowly pull out.. Pro-tip: remove ALL white mushroom anchors from metal door and put BACK into plastic door panel so they pop back in easily. Again, great video. Our skill level: total novice.

I called around to a few places and everyone immediately wanted me to purchase a window because the assumption was the clip was broken (I found clips online but for some reason everyone was against me just buying those 🤷🏻‍♀️) When the issue happened I heard something that sounded like pieces falling so when I stumbled on this video I had an “Ah-Ha” moment! I opened up the door today and this was exactly the problem! Thank You! You save me hundreds of dollars!!!

well done, thanks. same issue, rear bolt dropped off. couple pointers - the front of the window needs to be in the vertical rubber sliding track before re-installing the rear bolt. Also, the window control panel electrical plug-in has a slide lock. Use flat screwdriver in provided slot to move the slider forward before trying to disengage the electrical plug.

Thank you so much for this. The missing bolt was right where the video showed. Drove home 25 miles in 10 degree weather last night with the window down and was able to fix it today before our next wave of snow and rain are too hit in a couple hours! For some reason when my window fully closed it now automatically goes back down half way. Gotta figure that out. Any suggestions? At least I can get it closed now!

OMG i know this is exactly whats wrong with my 2011. I rolled the window down few days ago and heard a bold drop..i was like wtf... but my window went back up and down so didnt think nothing of it. Just now i roll it down in 30 deg weather and it looks like yours :( This must me super common i guess. Thanks for the video i know this will help me out alot!

Just one thing: The video did not show much the white screw being removed. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/bNWadbV0tK2UlGw.html My window was off the track of the rubber, it could not be raised up after installing back the missing bolt. So I had to uninstall the bolts and found out the rubber track was off the edge of the metal frame, I used a flat head screw driver to push it back to fit the frame and adjusted the window fitting into the track and re-install the 10 mm bolts, Done! Hopefully this extra info helpful. Feel good about fixing things!
