I recently acquired a Beetle with sunroof of my own. It doesn't open very widely but the size of the glass more than makes up for it.

@njmtbiker Thanks. I love the sunroof version. I have to say they have had some supply problems with the sunroof manufacturer, but hopefully we will see more of them soon.

Very well done review, thorough explanation of standard features with the Turbo. Just looked at one last wk, when getting old Jetta repaired, and find all the Beetle brochures a little confusing, as far as what is standard.

absolutely, everything is explained in such a detail I’m sure my local distributors in Hong Kong wouldn’t be able to do. Pity I can’t upgrade my existing 09 Beetle to this one like a software upgrade! =)

I went for the regular 2.5 myself so that I could get the sunroof, sound and nav. The turbo would also get me in trouble. :)

@ce20101 Sometimes we get cars that are meant for other markets. Being so close to the factory, they sometimes send us incorrect items. The small headrests are european spec.

IT IS EASY TO SEE IF YOU THERMOSTAT IS WORKING OK I LIKE THE LOOK OF THE HOLE DASH AND CLUSTER AND LIKE THAT YOU CAN

The S ins TSI stands for "stratified" not straight ;). It means that that the mixture of the directly injected fuel and the air can also be stratified before its ignited.

did the manufacturer fixed the window problem on 2012 model.....hopefully they got rid all of the glitches in 2013 model....thanks for the video,,,,

Hi there Richard. I have the 2012 Beetle that I call the Retro edition due to the two tone interior and I have the retro looking hubcaps on the wheels. It also has the moon roof. I bought it used last year and I notice the roof does not open all the way. It slides back about 2/3 of the opening, if that makes sense. Is that normal? Should it slide all the way open?

Im 15 but i want a 2012 and some of them doesnt have a arm rest and i love the 2012 since its in my moms budget which of the 2012 beetles have a arm rest so i can know when i ask the dealer

ORDER NICE OPTIONS ON THE BASE ENGINE CARS AND KEEP IT BASIC ON THE TURBO MODEL IF YOU'RE THE TYPE OF PERSON THAT LIKE TO SPEND MORE ON ENGINE AND TRANS THAN ELECTRONIC GADGETS IT GIVES MORE CHOICE AND I LIKE THE CARBON FIBER LOOK LEATHER ON THE SEATS AND I LIKE THAT IS IS MORE MACHO MEANING A GUY OR WOMEN WILL LIKE IT AND IT WILL COME WITH THE EXCELLENT TDI ENGINE.I THINK THEY WILL SELL MUCH MORE OF THEM COMPARE TO THE LAST MODEL. Great review, but forgets to say one thing ... I bought one of these cars a month ago, and we have to say that all these cars suffer from a problem! The windows are ALL DEFECTIVE! When you try to close them, often turn down alone, and we must insist on shut them down! At the time VW has not yet solutions to this problem! My beetle has also defective in self-closing door mirrors, luckily under warranty! For the rest of the car is beautiful and it works great,SEE THE VIDEO "Falla VW Beetle 2012"
