This model engine will consume black oil once its cloak over 100,000 km as you mentioned, so need to overhaul the engine or change piston rings ?

For future proof its always better to overhaul the engine as this engine also will have lots of carbon deposits if the owner not always tekan. After overhaul it's possible to went back to its original state when new to deliver generous amount of power.

Yeaaa,most volkswagen have paddle shifters behimd the steering wheel except polo if not mistaken or golf 1.4 mk6 mk7
