I've had sooo much fun with my Woodlands Mill :) Best little mill ever! Love the little gizmo for preventing the blade from cutting the log stops... learnt that the hard way! I live out in the sticks and since our local saw sharpener retired I've been experimenting with my own sharpening, so far I'm having great success using a Dremel with a small hard stone. It's been a trial and error venture but when I put a freshly sharpened blade on now the first thing I notice is how quietly the blade cuts plus the engine seems to be under very little load, blade stays cooler even cutting 16ft boards. I have several blades which I've sharpened 5-6 times and they're all still like new!

You need to stack milled lumber with spacers so that it can air dry. Milling green lumber and letting it dry after is best. Drying time varies depending on species of wood, climate and thickness of wood.

Our newer model mills now come with an aluminum lube tank instead of the plastic tank. This was implemented early 2012.

what size blade you using and do you have the specs on this?

Knew it was a hemlock. I would recpgnize that red inner bark anywhere!

19" wheels are good. I've seen a few sawmills priced higher than this model with just 16" wheels.

Two things I noticed in this video, which was not raising the blade at the end of the cut, which can wear out the wheels tires, but in cases, cause the blade to work off a wheel, and next the uses of the pike type screws against a finished cut side, they should have had a piece of scrap put between the beam and the sharp end of the screw. At the end of the cut, always raise the blade at least by it's thickness abouve the work, and set the depth after you get back to start.
