How to drain and fill the CVT fluid on a 2013-2017 Honda Accord. This is only 4-cylinder models, the V6 models have regular automatic transmissions, not CVTs.

Honda just says to do it when the maintenance minder says to, but at my dealership we usually recommend every 60,000 miles.

@@MechanicalMalarkey thank you very much, mines at 70k and I just bought it in December. None of the carfax says anything specifically if it has been done or not yet in its life so I was just wondering. I’ll probably have it done soon then

What if you dont check the check level plug after filling? I just drained and added 3.75 quarts

I typically just fill it with how much it says and don't bother checking.

I fill it back up based on how much drained out.

How many liters of fluid did you put?

Is that fluid avalable at walmart?

They wouldn't have the Honda brand fluid. They may have a generic CVT fluid but I would recommend going with Honda.

yes there is a filter behind the transmission heater that is under the battery shelf,,,,check you tubes for how to do it

It's under the battery. Some Honda workers don't know this, but there is indeed one.

So there’s no transmission filter ? I saw another video change but mostly all of them don’t mention it. I’m so confuse

The CVT transmission does not have an external filter. The regular automatic transmission in the V6 model does.
