wait a minute, MDX has SHAWD and RDX is just AWD, this is not apples to apple!

I normally like you guy's reviews, but you are wrong saying the mdx isn't worth the extra money. Sh-awd is not free and is much more advanced than the rdx's basic awd. Rdx has no third row, 19 inch wheels, adjustable suspension, tri-zone climate control, adaptive cruise control, cmbs, 5000lb tow capacity, or rear entertainment. This alone is worth 15g's and there is much more that can be mentioned.

Great review guys. I have been flipping between the mdx and rdx. But ultimately I think you are right in that the rdx is a probably a better buy for longer term ownership, these reviews are good for looking at 2nd hand cars now...

Hello. I made a comment a few weeks back about our 2011 MDX. We have since replaced it with a 2013 Chevrolet Tahoe Z71. Thanks for all your work

I’m 6’ and 340lbs. The mdx fits me just fine. And the leg room in the back is totally acceptable. The 2nd row can also be adjusted completely to your liking and will fit anyone unless you’re using the 3rd row as well. That’s a little more tricky and obviously meant for children or carpool emergencies. No one would buy this car expecting to fit 7 adults. It’s big enough to fit 5 comfortably though and plenty of cargo.

We did a full drive & review of the 2013 Honda Pilot and the version we tested was the top of the line and I agree... I'd probably go with the Pilot of these two discussed vehicles - Dave

I own a MDX Base 2011, great handling, 64k miles now, mostly highway. city drive (NYC 14 MPG) highway 20 or 21MPG depending on altitude and terrain. SHAWD system is pretty amazing. I felt the system work a few times and 1x specifically it saved me from a high speed impact during highway driving. Expensive maintenance. Front suspension had to be overhauled due to excessive amount of pot holes in NYC. Since I own the car, I never had serious problems. Actually it was more about poor quality craftmanship. Windows both rear windows stopped working. Headliner sagged at 28k miles?? lots of plastics braking or coming apart. for a car that starts at $40k, this is unacceptable. Would I buy another one? probably not. Keep in mind, My previous car was a Honda CRV. I depend on the AWD, since I travel a lot in bad weather. This MDX is very comfortable for sure, its like traveling 1st class on long drives.

In my opinion both the RDX and the MDX need to be moved up into the next larger vehicle category. Make the MDX a full sized SUV and the RDX a mid sized SUV.

can I just say about the leg room in the front and the back and the adult size something that had come to my attention that you have the the backseat pushed up because if I remember correctly don't the seats move independently

the suspension on the rdx is not the same as the MDX with advance package has a different suspensio

The mdx is older model. And the rdx is new gen. Wait and review the new gen mdx which will be out soon and all these probs will be solved
