This is one of the best HOF speeches I have ever heard. The guy made mistakes in his life. He is still the greatest receiver in Ohio State history and as a Buckeye fan couldn't be more proud if him!

He should have got in before the 2013 season. He should have got in like somewhere in 2007 - 2011 season. But It's about time he got in.
@chuckers407 жыл бұрын
I think part of the reason he didn't get in sooner was because the HOF committee didn't want to put another wide receiver (first or second ballot) until Jerry Rice (the GOAT) got in first which was 2010. Michael Irvin got in on his second appearance (2007) CC's first year of eligibility was 2008. 2010 and 2011 were the strongest classes. Jerry and Emmitt in 2010 and in 2011 first timers: Marshall Faulk, Jerome Bettis, Deion sanders, Ed Sabol, Shannon Sharpe. I'm glad he finally made it, but it was just timing and who was ahead of him.

Should've been 1st ballot in my opinion

Chris Carter. So happy to have watched you and Randy growing up. To this day, I still have the Three Deep poster with you, Randy, and Jake Reed. Used to practice getting the tips of my toes in for a touchdown just like you. Thank you, on behalf of all Vikes fans out there. Can't wait to see #80 in the new ring of honor at US Bank Stadium!

similar backgrounds.. grew up about 4 hours from one another. though, its true that carter was in high school, not even playing football yet, by the time moss was even old enough to be able to run with a football... and i guarantee moss doesnt end up becoming who he became (maybe the best ever.. the only one u can argue against rice anyway), if he doesnt get put right behind carter. carter got to pass the torch, pay it forward, and teach moss "how to be a pro" like so many of the people he thanked for teaching to him years earlier. and on a kid from rand, wv... small fuckin world lol

Make no mistake about it- I detest pro football with every fiber of my being but I caught some of the speeches as I'm a 'Cane & Warren Sapp fan. I liked Warren's speech but the emotion Chris showcased REALLY caught my attention. I've had a lot of respect for Chris Carter- his speech reaffirmed why & his mentioning of Reggie White (I've been a Reggie fan since his days at Tennessee) brought me to tears. WOW- what a moving speech & an even better man. Congrats Chris!!

Great speech. One of the greatest of all times just like the man giving it. I have watched these HOF inductions for decades and watched films of the ones that I haven't seen and this is on the top of the list for one of the greatest ever. The HOF should actually recognize that they tarnished their own reputation by not putting this man in on the first ballot... shame on them.

@@tonybleau6219 Fitz learned it from watching Carter as a ball boy on the Vikings sideline. That said, Fitz is definitely the inheritor of that mantle. Best hands in football for his entire career. His talent and determination were like none I had ever seen but I thought that /Chris’s personal life would get in the way of him becoming the player we all thought he could be. It’s amazing what his commitment to Jesus and his getting sober did for him. I know I coach kids and because of this speech I have the courage to tell those kids I love them. God Bless you Chris!
