He wrote the song for which our daughter was named in 2001 and we stumbled across the name for our first start-up company in 1994 while thumbing through his book of lyrics (A Box of Rain). The way he assembled his words had the profound effect of kindness and empathy on my life during my formative musical years and helped me make sense of this big ole, complicated world. I will miss the genius of this man but his work will live on in the songs he set free. Rest In Peace, Robert Hunter. Your worldview is needed more now than ever. May the four wind blow you safely home.

Saw him at Red Rocks in 2003 or 04 he opened for The Dead. I had to rush in catch his set. It was 5 shows in 6 days and it rained a lot.
