Beautifully written post full of heart, hope he sees it and feels all that love. Love seeing other fans post in appreciation. There are so many of us who don’t post. For every post like yours, there are thousands of us nodding in agreement. I’m just glad I was born into the world that had Stephen Stills in it and not some other, sadder world.

To all you idiots saying he doesn't sing well today, he had 2 strokes in the last 10 years. Ain't his fault.

Sorry to hear that. Stephen Stills in a genius. Stroke IS a preventable disease though.

Well, I hadn't heard about the strokes. Maybe true or not. However, it is common knowledge that Stills was born with a hearing defect which progresses with time. It's at a point where he's almost deaf. He has spoken about this publicly. That's why he sounds the way he does. I hate to hear him sound like this.

Nice to see Richie Furray with him! Wish he would play this song straight rather than bluesy.

Beautiful! My preference is Stephen Stills on the Stratocaster, but Kenny Wayne Shepherd gives a fine taste of his chops near the end of the song. He's become a legend in his own right.

Cool! Looks like Stephen Stills uses his IEM only in his right ear just like me...suddenly I feel validated.

It's interesting to me when a guy who was so incredible hits his 70's and has pretty much gone deaf in one ear at a minimum has trouble carrying a tune gets wiped all over the place. However, take someone like Jagger who never could carry a tune and is the same age, he never gets mentioned as far as not being able to carry a tune. I have rarely if ever seen a non-professional musician ever be the age guys like CSN and others come close to being able to carry a tune in their 70's.

Musically he gets better with age, vocally, since 1985, he has lost his ability to carry a melody. None the less, he is one of the greats!

I would say it was more recent, he really started to sound terrible in the 2000s. I'm not sure what happened since his band mates still sound decent in comparison.

Gazpacho8 hes pretty much deaf. watched an interview with dan rather... he said he was completely deaf in one ear and had about 70% of his hearing in the other. sad to see. but can still jam.

Well, he isn't 20 years old anymore to start with..... He's in his 70's and his voice isn't being controlled by a sound board like so many artists his age.
