The Red suzuki is mine. All I have is 2" body lift, 2" suspension spacers, and a rear locker, on 31's.

Steve Smith so far I put a 2in BDS suspension and 2in body. too much on the cvs (kept pulling out of the diff) so I ended up chopping the front end up and a samurai axle will be under it very soon!

I have a 1.8L sidekick, the JLX version, and it seems like I have to put in 4low in just about any kind of uphill not perfect terrain situation. is this the case for you or am i just doing something wrong? This is unless I can get some momentum before hand, but still, I find the lack of power frustrating at times. I do have a 3 inch lift and 31.6" tires, I'm not sure if that matters thought.

he, yeah the 32 inch tires matter ALOT. when you put those tires on and didn't change the gearing in the differential, you took away all of the mechanical advantage that the drivetrain had. that is why you now have to run in low range on even the slightest of hills. if you have a 5 spd you need to get aftermarket gear, likely 5.83's. if you have an auto, get a set of front and rear diffs out of vehicle just like yours, with a 5 spd. that would give you back some gearing, but not all that you need. if you have any questions message me, and ill do my best to help you.

I have the 5 spd manual. What all would that entail? Also, I'm assuming that by changing out the gear ratios my gas consumption would get much worse on daily driving, plus I cant just swap out the diffs I would need to swap the cv joints with them right? also probably the driveshafts, which would mean an adaptor for the transmission? I'm not 100% on all this, but it does seem like the sidekick cv joints and driveshaft seem to be very small in comparison to most other cars.

Since you already have a 5 spd tranny, swapping out your diffs, wont do you any good. If you were able to swap the axle gears to 5.83's you would actually get far better gas mileage. your gearing would be closer to stock, and your engine wouldn't have to work nearly as hard as it does now, to get you down the road or up hills. you would gain mechanical advantage. You wouldn't need to change anything else in your drivetrain, if you swapped to a 5.83 gear. The cv shafts aren't that big and you can get better ones, but if your not bouncing off of rocks and beating the snot out of the vehicle, they will be fine. With that said, keeping a few spare parts is never a bad idea.

No, I don't beat the snot out of my car, I mostly do sand/mud/swamp type of wheeling. I'm experienced in remove and replace type of maintenance, but not modifications. To swap it out for a 5.83 axle gear is that just taking apart the 2 diffs and replacing that certain gear? I tried looking it up and it seems like 5.83 is a complicated gear choice, as in uncommon. Where would I find all the parts necessary for this? Thanks for all the help by the way, I really appreciate it, I know a lot of people wouldn't.

yeah, 5.83's aren't the easiest to find, but its the best option honestly. you would have to pull the diffs and remove the gearing that is currently in it, and replace it with the new gear set. sadly it is complicated enough that its better to have a pro do it. youd also need a new 'master' install kit for each end. Finding the gears will be the most difficult part. Your welcome for the help. others have helped me, and I like passing on the info that oi have learned

vitara long is great but only with lift 4 "Radzikone.pl suspension works better than a large lifcie 2 "-3" especially the front suspension. recommend p.s see my videos

Your description sucks. There is nothing descriptive about it and is only intended to fish for view. it's sad that you have to post every single ohv park just to get people to watch. Be more descriptive so people can actually tell where you are at and stop fishing for any and every search possible
