Thanks Tony! I know everything about those magnificent vehicles. I'm the only Senior in my High School that wants one. I never actually drove one because of my grandma and grandpa divorce. Sad but life goes on.

You can add the satellite radio receiver after the sale to pretty much any car. I have personally sold a base model XLE and my customers have requested the dealership to add satellite radio.

You're right about the younger buyers. I've already seen a few behind the wheel in their 30's. I personally love the looks of this new Avalon. Tony,meow would you say it stacks against the Alzera? And the Cadenza is coming out now too. The issues I have with the Avalon is once you go up a level and add a few packages you might as well have bought the Lexus 350 ES FULLY LOADED that have everything out there for only $2500 difference.

Nice review, Tony. One question how does this Avalon compare to your Camry? Does it even feel like it comes from the same chassis? I feel bad for the old folks, no more knobs or buttons to be found in any upscale cars anymore, they're just gonna have to buy entry level stuff from now on!

that is most definetly a huge jump to my 1997 Avalon XLS im driving! The moment i can afford it, this is my next car for sure. I compare it to my current avalon and im 6ft1 and big guy... this car is comfort, style, and im in my mid 20s and ive always been a fan of full size sedans. and that EPA for a car that size is deal breaker for me.

GREAT review!! All I can say is...WoW....not XM....I had a 2011 Hyundai Accent BASE....that had XM radio,,,,Really Toyota?!?!? (I almost bought a Cressida back in 93, ended up choosing Maxima...)

I hate how satellite radio isnt standard! My 2013 Toyota Highlander Plus has a touch screen too and it didn't come with satellite. A big disppointment. but the car is good.

Why should all cars come with SiriusXM when less than a 15% of cars actually subscribe? That's a lot of people paying hundreds of dollars per car for some "standard" feature they will not use. SiriusXM has 32.7 million subscribers (as of 12/31/2017). There's 253 million cars currently registered to drive in the US. Approx 13% of cars have a subscribed service. I realize that's not quite 1-1, as some people may have 1 subscription with 2 multiple cars, but many younger couples will have a subscription for each person/car.

I like the car especially the cabin workmanship quality but the control panel seems to be poorly organized and the exterior design is still unconventional. The car looks like it was placed under a heavy press, it's too narrow and too long.

@@averageguytested U reviewed this w/o even owning it, so +1 for biased. This new one has very soft steering, not firmer. Its steering is softer than the 2013 Lexus E350 and 3x times softer than the 2014 Camry +1 for biased. The ride is rough as hell but since you don't own a Camry or an Avalon, how would you know? +1 again for biased. And please, the interior is more plain than a plain yogurt. For $30,000, the Nissan Maxima SR, or the Optima SXL can do a far better job for lesser price. This car is just a Camry with leather seat, nothing more, nothing less. Same Camry transmission, same engine, but worse suspension, same frame.
