Allan Moffat is a great man - the reason he was successful was because he is so passionate. I was a Holden fan as a boy and hated Allan Moffat for what he represented (Ford), but as time passes you come to understand the people better and now I have the utmost respect for him.

Never had much time for Allan Moffat back when he was racing but since he retired i have had the pleasure of meeting him on several occasions and he talk about his early ford endurance xp days he is a true gentlemen of the Australian Motor Sport and 4 time Bathurst Winner well done Sir

I can't say the same. Met him at a signing with a glovebox from a XY Falcon (was from a neighbour's family heirloom) and when I kindly asked he told me to "fuck off". I walked away disgusted (after buttering up his ego he did sign it but deliberately signed it upside down) and behind me was a young family. (two girls plus parents) who kindly asked for a race program to be signed. He again refused and told the girls "go back to school you shitheads" I won't have anything to do with Moffat ever again. (Although his son James is rather ok to talk to)

I'm an American racing fan who learnedof the V8's via cable.Allan Moffat's a living treasure,who's schooled his son well.Bless him!

Allan Moffat was always such an emotional person with motor racing it will be a very sad day when he passes away unfortunately I found this out a while ago he has dementia now and has done so for 4 years and he is in a home now he still gets out and about a fair bit though I don't think he has that long left unfortunately
