I LOVE my vibrant res!!! I also put a borla XS muffler on mine as well and it sounds fantastic. Awesome videos man! I've been benge watching them. Going to finally hardwire my radar detector tomorrow.

Hey I know this video is 6 yrs ago and your video is very informational. Although I'd like to get more info about your setup. I have a 3" catted dp on my '14 GLI and I've done a resonator delete with the stock rear muffler. I get a lot of drone noise and very raspy sound. I want the sound to get close to stock without losing performance. I had a vibrant resonator before in place of the stock resonator and it was very droney. I wonder if it's because of placement. It was still loud. What is your full exhaust setup?

What is the diameter of the pipe and the resonator? Were they both supposedly same D but the Vibrant make them a tad larger? [Edit} 8:35 So they are both 3'' so I suppose the pipe is under 3'at 70mm and the resonator is 76mm. Thanks

no.. exhaust pipes measure external pipe size. resonators use internal size. so if a resonator is a 3", it means it slips over a 3" pipe.

I have a catless downpipe and I can't stand the exhaust fumes! you think I can cut and clamp a universal 200 cell cat onto the downpipe or is welding preferred for a cat?

mine fit, BUT, i had to tilt the resonator a bit. so if you weld, be careful. if just clamps, its easy to turn it

Thanks for the response. I'm looking to use the clamps as well. I love the flexibility of that option. I'm in the Bay area as well, so I may be paying 50/50 a visit! Thanks again

I have a j2 downpipe with a beluga racing catback no cats or anything just the mufflers.. I'm thinking of getting this res and removing the mufflers and just leaving the downpipe and this res. how do you think it would sound? Lol sorry for the bother

i get almost everything on amazon. but you can get accuseal clamps a lot of places. they are one of the best brand band clamps.

It did not do shit for my set up, I have a stage 2 mk7.5 with a USp DP connected to a vibrant.. straight flow from that on... please share some knowledge the car is fun but the drone is killing me ! Lol got the Crackle tune so... its Loud !!

on the resonator you should have made a few cuts along the pipe so the pipe could shrink down to the downpipe

LastHumansGarage also going to get a resonator put in, I have a 3 inch downpipe catted and it’s too loud without resonator, im tossing up between ultra quiet vibrant or a vibrant 1792 to reduce noise and drone, but worried the uq will make it too quiet and the 1792 won’t quiten it done enough, what’s your thoughts on the ultra quiet resonator?
