Peace be Upon You
We have a friend that has been having a lot of issues with his car. It would shut off on him randomly. He had both of his cam vvt sensors replaced and started getting codes like p0101, p0016, mass air flow sensor code and couple other codes showing fuel regulator issues.
So we made this video to show you all how to clean your mass air flow sensor, replace the air filter and crankshaft position sensor.
We hope this video can help some of you watching.

Man I'm a big guy so my arms and hands are a big what all did u move out the way I have the tb off and moved some wires around but once I get my hand by the sensor I hardly have room to move around

I removed the air intake, the throttle body and sensor. moved couple wires, Honestly, The only way i was able to do it was: use your right hand, BEFORE going down into the engine, place your thumb down with your palm facing away. You have to slide your right hand under the throttle (inlet) in an angle, and once you reach down to the bolt with your right hand, then with your left hand slide down the slim 3/8 extension W/ swivel joint adapter ( Also I Used a10mm deep socket) and grab the socket with your right hand(fingers), that is already down there, and then try to place the 10mm socket over the bolt, once i got it snug enough, i gave it a little twist and it loosened up a little and i had to twist the bolt off with my fingers most of the way. It literally took me about 35 minutes to get the socket over the bolt. There's not much space to move your hand down there, so your going to have to guide the extension with your left hand and try to just use your right hand to push on the socket over the bolt. FOR ME the only way i had space to work was with my right hand down there before the socket was down there. An extended magnetic stick, used to reach for metal tools, may help you to place the socket over the bolt also, but that didn't work for me. I Hope i was able to help even a little. I have same issue. Worse case scenario you can pull the starter and get it from the bottom

update for my subscribers, my friends 2014 Malibu is actually driving much better after we cleaned the mass air flow sensor, changed the air filter and replaced the crank shaft position sensor (Genuine GM Part). Now his car does not shut off randomly anymore. Great News

Hi, yes it did have a few codes, for crankshaft position sensor, mass air flow sensor and another one I can't remember.

Just give it time it’ll mess up completely I have the same exact problem and I in about to spend more money to fix a piece of shit that’s going to need an engine

Can you make a new video on 2014 Chevy Malibu LT 2.0L L4 Engine showing exactly which screws to remove (POV) please? My throttle body needs cleaning bc my Malibu is starting to kick/hesitate..

I have a 2015 Chev Malibu with 177000 km and it shows code 0089 and code 0016. Code 0089 says it's the fuel pressure regulator and the 0016 says it's the bank 1 camshaft position sensor. I called the dealership for the price of the FPR and they tell me they don't have one on the computer. A dummy like me believes him because I don't find any videos of anyone working on the 2015 which seems to be different than the others in the engine. Any information would be a appreciated as I have no clue where to find, even the line to fuel pressure test. Thanks

Was is hard to remove the actual sensor? It took me like 40 minutes to remove the bolt and i have the sensor loose but it just wont come out, i messed up my whole arm because I nearly have any room there to move my arm but the sensor just wont budge out, How did u mamage to get it out? Like it should not be that difficult to pull the sensor out of the hole it literally doesnt come out.

For me it was easy once I removed the bolt, the sensor twisted slightly and popped right out when I pulled on it.

@@arighteousday6958 Thats crazy, I knew it wasnt normal, I literally cant pull the thing out, I thought I was going crazy, I had to tighten the bolt back on and gave up, It just wont come out, just twists inside the hole. Thanks for the reply man.
