I can only assume that the people who constantly trash the later model 300's have never actually owned one. I have owned a couple dozen cars in my life, but the 300 is my favorite by a wide margin. It has a serious road presence that few other automobiles can match. I love it so much that I drive the speed limit or below, just to get some extra driving time in before I arrive at my destination. The 300 has been a big success for Fiat-Chrysler Corporation, and I hope it sticks around for another decade. When mine starts to get old and worn, I will definitely trade it for another one.

i love this car, its great for the money. It's quick, quiet, comfortable roomy, beautiful, efficient and most important in about 11 years from now it will still have this american/business/gangster/muscle car looking appeal.

I'd love to see you guys review the Hemi. I watched your other reviews of the 300 and enjoyed them, so much so that I just ended up buying a new 300c with the Hemi and its night and day over the V-6. That motor makes up for any interior or extra chrome pieces!!! Push the go peddle to the floor and that thing sounds mean and rockets down the road. Try it, you'll like it!!

For the past 50 years the Chrysler 300 has always been an American highway automobile. These cars have always been designed to to do an 800 mile day at 75 mph on American highways. There are not a lot of curves, and not a lot of hills, on the US interstate highway system. I'll never know why automotive writers insist on comparing these cars with little European ally drivers and Autobahn rockets.

I've found these cars to be one that I wasn't that excited to get into when I first picked it up (company lease). After a couple of weeks, though, it really started to grow on me. It is a car I could live with long term. Being that it is in the tail end of its design cycle the incentives are fairly generous. The street price is quite a bit below sticker.

Nathan mentioned this car would be much better with 310hp. I've got a 2013 with RWD. I slapped on a Cold Air Intake and the Diablosport 93 octane tune. Now, at about 315hp, I can verify that what Nathan said is spot-on. Let's hope Chrysler slaps DI on their Pentastar and soon. $45,000 is a lot to pay for a "C" trim AWD, but if you shop around you can get a new 300 for close to $25k. At that price, the criticisms levied against it in this review fade.

Audi copied Chrysler with their big grille Chrysler had that on their fwd cars in 1999..Audi also opied Chrysler ,look at the wheels lip on the fender and the tall sides,before 2005 nobody was making these bigger type cars,they were all slanted front ends and small sides..

The design is getting a bit dated. When about every sedan has gone sleek and forward leaning -- even the Impala -- Chrysler is still playing it safe with its usual safe inside the box designs. Of course it has a smooth ride and a quiet engine. It looks like it belongs in a funeral procession so what do you think it's going to ride like?

This car needs to be COMPLETELY redesigned in the next two years. This look is so outdated and cheap looking. Cadillac seems to be the only american luxury brand that's getting it right. Nobody sees Chrysler as a luxury brand. For $45K you could get an A4 or a 3 series. Yes they will be pretty base trim levels but I'd drive a 328i with just cub holders and a steering wheel before a chrysler 300.

Why does Chrysler seem to be associating themselves with luxury? They're nothing nice
@RobHeathers
@RobHeathers 10 жыл бұрын
Because they used to be and are trying to get back there. The late-90s starred Chrysler as the best American luxury interiors, but their performance wasn't there. Truthfully, they have a spotty record for luxury...something is always off-kilter. However, over the course of their brand's existence they are on the money typically 5-10 years before everyone else (meaning: Lincoln & Cadillac). Sadly, Americans don't look at American cars for something new or innovative. I still find Chrysler a damn good competitor against the other two American luxury brands.
@TomazHilton
@TomazHilton 10 жыл бұрын
Rob Heathers Chrysler was never a Luxury auto maker. they were always entry level luxury. offered say.... "Lincoln" luxury amenities for ""Mercury" prices. thats exactly what the 300 is today.. Which is due for a refresh in for 2015 Model year.
@MrVnick1
@MrVnick1 10 жыл бұрын
Rob Heathers I would not compare Chrysler to ANY luxury car brand (like Lincoln, Cadillac or even any foreign car brand) . I was at the Boston Auto Show last weekend, Chrysler did not at all please me. I noticed they are using cheap materials, they had a lack of styling, and features for the money. If i had to compare them to any car brand, I couldn't they are in there own world not putting any thought into what Americans (or anyone) would want. If they trying to get back to luxury aspect they got to step up there game and not their over-glorified commercials.
@joshy052
@joshy052 10 жыл бұрын
MrVnick1 Chrysler is not a luxury brand though. They are entry level at best but are really meant for middle class that wants some nice amenities. To add, what major luxury brand sells minivans.
@TomazHilton
@TomazHilton 10 жыл бұрын
Well Mercedes has sold a Minivan before (R-Class) and a Mini MPV A-class (Euro only). a Luxury automaker isnt defined by what type of vehicles it makes. its all about how its made.. Heck Luxury SUVs didnt become a Luxury unill the Range Rover was built years after Jeep made the Grand Wagoner.

Apparently you can't read. Let me help - the GM euro spec 4 cyl 2.0L non turbo engine manages to push out 190 lb/ft. Scale that up to a 3.6 and you'd be looking at around 340lb/ft. There are plenty of other modern engines with similar figures. HTH.
@tscott7483
@tscott7483 9 жыл бұрын
boltar2003 I read your original comment, and it made me actually want to do some research...if you go to axlegeeks.com, you can compare this for yourself...but several modern DOHC V6 motors from Europe and Japan make about that same amount of torque or less. 3.5L V6 in the Camry - 248 lb.ft 3.5L V6 in the Altima - 251 lb. ft 3.6L V6 in the Passat - 258 lb. ft 3.5L V6 in the Accord - 252 lb.ft Only when you start looking at luxury brands (MB, Lexus, et.al) does the torque number start going up, and those models require premium fuel to make their slightly higher torque number (usually in the 270 lb.ft range). So, does Detroit toss prehistoric junk over the fence? Not according to the numbers.
