I prefer 8-ball on a bar table over 9-ball bc it's just tougher to run out

If you think pool on a 7 footer is a joke you're not a real pool player. You should be able to play on any table. Both have their advantages and disadvantages. Both earl Strickland and Landon shuffet said they like the 10 foot tables because it's easier to move around and less clusters. Pool is pool, as long an both players are playing on the same table it doesn't matter what size it is. Most pros are just too lazy to learn to play bar table pool. That's why Oscar Dominguez refused to play sky Woodward on a Barbox

@@RockSpoon123 There is no "regulation" length table. Regulation only means that the table is twice as long as it is wide to answer simply.

I was gonna say I expect Dennis to win. And that would be true on a 9ft. But on a bar box I gotta go with Corey. Corey Deuel is one of the strongest bar box players on Earth. On a 9ft Dennis would run him over. Or Dennis would win..

Corey just beat Carlo Biado on a 9’ race to 18. So shortish race Corey would have a chance. Race to a 100 no way.

simply saying u cant soft break is a hard thing to gauge, what constitutes soft, what is too soft. are they gonna really have a ref there with a speed gun. they should just make it so u have to break in the break box for 9 ball or dont use the smart rack.

I agree but I also think it's boring to watch professionals play on small tables. I think the bigger the tables and smaller the pockets...the better. For example, look at snooker. Professional snooker players are greatly appreciated for their skill because anyone who has ever played snooker understands how difficult the game is. Unlike pool because most amateur Americans play on tiny "bar box" pool tables. Which means they can't relate to the difficulty of playing on a 9' or 10' table.

The old Corey Deuel soft break. I played Danny Olson at Big Dogs in Iowa and he beat me the same way. He did the soft break and the 1 ball rolled up by the side pocket every time, and then he ran out or made a combo on the 9 every break. He won the lag then won every game on his break, I never even got a shot in any games he broke. I lost 7-1 because I broke dry 1 game, did not have a shot on the 1 another game, and I scratched on the break another game. I only got to the table on my breaks, so even if I ran every table he would have still won 7-6. Playing Danny was just like what Corey did to Dennis in this match. I made 2 or 3 mistakes and it cost me the match, because Danny run out on every one of his breaks.

Its the US Bar Table Classic. Just one tournament out of several dozen where most are played on 9 Foot Tables. These 7' Diamonds with Pro Cut pockets are no joke at all. Most amateur leagues and tournaments (especially in the Midwest) are played on 7' Bar Tables. APA National Tournament in Vegas, BCAPL National Tournament in Vegas, VNEA International Tournament in Vegas, NAPA National Tournament, are all played on 7' tables similar to these (Pros will play on 9' at BCA). Trust me, you probably are not a pool player if you think these tables are joke. In reality, you are only talking about a small change in maximum distance of shots on a bar table versus a full table (barely 2 feet). A Bar Table also means same number of balls on smaller surface and MORE traffic... But have an unfounded opinion if you want...

thehossdriver Ask a professional pool player if he/she prefers bar tables or 9' tables. Trust me when I say that there are not many that prefer bar tables. Professionals only play on bar tables because that is what amateurs play on. Ultimately, 9-ball on a bar table IS a joke. Pros hate it but they have to make a living.

soft breaks works better on quality tables with fast cloth,a normal shitbox bar table in a crummy bar,this break no worky. Anyway,who gives a shit about bar tables,fecking shite.

Corey won by pattern racking and soft breaking and thats not how the game should be played theyre both monsters and they should know better i see pattern racking a form of cheating to always win that way and its a coward move imo

Both Dennis and Corey are a great shooters and I like to watch them, but Dennis often becomes undecided to take a shot involving a safety or what to do when put in safe. Sometimes he cues up to shoot as many as 3-4 times before finally taking the shot. As I watched the match I found it to be alternate break which is just too boring for me. This is NOT professional 9 ball, it is amature 9 ball made for children or novice players and Dennis and Corey certainly are not amature so I will find another winner's break game to watch that can get exciting. When I use to watch alternate break I don't think I ever saw an exciting game.

The magic rack (while being a good concept) has lead rise to strategies around racking that do not benefit the sport. Gone are the days where you needed to have a lot of skill to break correctly. I know Corey has mastered the soft break but it's just plain dumb when combined with pattern racking.
