this happens to me every time I turn the car on.. reset works.. but is there a better fix?

I had this exact problem with a 2013 Edge SEL and this solution worked like a charm. It happens to me every year...I used to just disconnect the battery and that works as well.

Just got in my car 2012 edge and nothing but HOT air--COOKING hot air from passenger vents and cold from drivers vents..and it's SUMMER..in Cali!! Did this and my underdash lights all flickered and cycled and then the proper cool air came out..thank you..!! saved me a huge bill

Had this happen a year ago. Wife has a Ford Edge 2013 and the heat was not coming from the passenger side vent. Used your method, and 1 minute, and just like that it's fixed again. Thank you.

Thank you for sharing! I had to push the power/defrost for 5 seconds 3 separate times, but on the 3rd try, and hitting the power button afterwards worked! Thanks man! Saved us a Ford Dealer repair bill. They probably do the same thing and charge $350.

Excellent video, thank you for sharing. My 2012 Ford Edge SEL's started behaving in a mysterious way yesterday. The AC was fine on the driver's side while the passenger's side was blowing hot air. Holding down the two buttons several times did it for me finally. Not sure what the exact steps were, but I had to have the `Auto` option on for my climate control too while doing the reset.

This fix worked on a 2013 Ford Edge Limited as well! The dashboard buttons look different, but the process works the same. I pressed the buttons on the dash (not touch screen). Thanks for the fix!

This just worked for my 2013 Lincon mkx. Like a master reset. It flashed through colours for my ambient lighting then stayed at one colour before I let go. Works fine now. Thank you.

Had the system go no-heat / no-defrost on our 2013 SEL. I had replaced the blower motor this morning and while testing afterwards I noticed the no-heat / no-defrost condition. I did the A/C reset as described in this video... It Worked !!! Who knows how long this has been out of whack as we are South Florida folks so heat & defrost are rarely used......

Thank you! With car running and AC on, I pressed defrost and the power button simultaneously and it worked!. It took about 10 tries but I was able to hear something happening in the dash when I did it the correct way. I have a 2014 Ford Edge btw.

Just had a problem with my 2014 Ford Edge. With AC on I was getting cold air on the driver's side, and hot air on the passenger's side. I held the defrost button and the power/control button down simultaneously for 3 to 5 seconds and then released them. Then pressed the power/control button and cold air on both sides. Perfect. Will see how long this works. Thank you so much for your solution.
