Thank you, Paul. You saved me a TON of time trying to diagnose my 2015 Sierra 1500. I happen to have exactly the same problem, and have temporarily moved the cables and that worked great. Now I need to figure out how to change the fuse block to prevent possible overload!

Saw your video, 25 minutes later it’s fixed. Mine was being blocked by melted plastic, I cleaned it up and boom fixed

It’s called “ battery distribution engine compartment fuse block” part #8435716 . His fix works but only as a temp fix would recommend running it that for long as my media center was weird

Thank you for posting your video, it helped me a lot. I was disconnecting my battery and started with the negative terminal first. I was using an extended wrench which hit one of the terminals and created a spark and this may have created my problem. Without the benefit of checking continuity, I moved the affected cables as you indicated and that solved my problem. Will purchase a new fuse block tomorrow.

How to check the continuity like you said

So I have a similar issue. Can you elaborate if this was an intermittent problem or a one time deal? My Sierra will start fine, and then out of no where act like the battery is dead. I’ve had the battery checked and it is new and cranking amps are strong. The parts store tested the alternator and battery again Ian’s both checked out fine. I’m thinking it may be a ground that maybe dirty or a relay is bad, but now wonder if something on the fuse block itself may be going bad. The only tell tell sign that it may happen, is the voltage gauge needle will be on the left side of the good range, still in the ok range, but when the truck is shutoff and turned back on acts like a dead battery.

How do you test it?

I have a 2016 Chevy Silverado, 1506 cylinder motor. I also have a problem where the vehicle has absolutely no power. Nothing will turn on but the battery haves full voltage. I’m going to change this part tomorrow and come back here and let you guys know if it helped.

Anyone know if this would drain your battery? I have switched out my alternator and starter and 2 batteries in the last 4 months. Checked all battery cables and no sign of corrosion or faulty wiring. So I’m wondering if this would solve my issue?

mine has no lights no power at all but the battery shows fully charged. this has happened a few times and will just start after I mess with the key fob oddly enough. today it wont start at all. this is the biggest peice of shit truck I have ever owned and also the most expensive. I really really regret buying it. I had a toyota tundra that I drove for over 400,000 miles and never had a problem , this thing is just one thing after another and the transmission is total crap , it lacks power and is just a piece of shit truck all around. sucks that I have to pay for it for the next 6 years and probably will not be able to even drive it that long. absolute peice of shit I am sick of it I can not relay on it at all and there is no excuse for that in newer vehicles for what they cost they should go a million miles without having to work on anything.
