I had the same issue....the cause was a button that was stuck in the on position overriding everything else.see if u can free the button...might have gunk in it

How much did it cost you? I bought one on eBay and it was remarkably easy to replace.

@hankhillsurethra it was covered on an extended warranty. $100.00 deductible. Normally around $450.00 parts and labor.

Mine started to do the same thing. Then all the sudden it started blinking, then the screen went totally white. After that it went completely black and never went back ON!!!

The dealership here fixed it, I think. I described it. They did a software update. They said that there was a company bulletin that described this issue.

I had a similar issue with my 2012 lx. I disconnected the battery for 5 minutes and that fixed it! Have u had any more issues!?

I have a 2015 civic and it does the same thing every once in a while and it the radio and controls will start working after I drive it for a while. when I take it to honda its always working when I pull in to the parking lot and they tell me they can't do anything till they themselves see the issue.

I had the same problem with my 2014 Civic. Problem seems to have been solved by a software update.

do you find it hard to come to a smooth stop? when I'm coming to a stop as I'm slowing down the rpm holds at right above 1000 and then dips down and goes back up which causes a slight jerk feeling. I assumed it was the CVT but just wondering if your experiencing that as well?

adrianthevegan I noticed something a little diff but might be the same. It was when say you are traveling at a steady 50 mph. Then some one pulls out in from of you and you begin to slow down, they accelerate and pull away. When I would transition from brake to gas there would be a jerk or stall when I gave it gas. Almost like the transmission would get confused or downshift really hard.
