Not a bad car as a basic city commuter. I would opt for the manual transmission for sure!

I was a driver for enterprise rental car about four months ago. Drove so many cars. The Accent is the only car that I like by Hyundai. I agree Hyundai suck, but that Accent is surprisingly good. My experience was the steering was phenomenal for a car at that price and stature, visibility was top notch. Car was so easy to drive and maneuverability was great. I know what you mean by the whines out. I drove these cars two hours on the highway each way every day. But if you drive the car normal and not hot Rod it doesn't whine out that bad. The little motor you have to remember. You get on it it gets up fast enough to get around traffic. I also think it's pretty impressive a car like that has a six speed automatic.

+GreatBeyond74 I used to prep cars for Enterprise. Compared to Yaris' and Versa's, an Accent is like hopping into a Mercedes.

He actually didn’t lie about the breaks it’s just simply the feel of it like when I test drove this vehicle i felt like it was just “too low” & could use new breaks that’ll help them feel more “tight” … BUT let’s hypothetically say that they were “new breaks” .. then that’s just how the car is .. the breaks just feel “lower/soft/spongy” when you have heavy feet 😂 like myself & this guy. This 2014 reminded me of an old friend of mine who let me drive their Nissan 2015 a few times 👌🏼 ✅.. NOT BAD AT ALL & definitely up MY ALLEY due to my height & daily commute it’s a basic compact car with solid breaks the steering wheel maneuverability is great & the back window view when in reverse is not that extravagant to SEE out of when parking but then again it’s a 2014 also pretty quiet on the road & it all depends on what everyone likes as a style of driving .. I drive very well & ALOT so I decided to go with a car great on miles & we’ll see how this accent does in the future for me .. really would love to modify & spice it up too. I think I’ll get new tires & rims of course always hated that “road/cement” feeling im pretty sensitive 😂.. I like a smooth ride & i need great all gear around tired for OHIO 🕳️.. narrow wheels are okay but not enough in my opinion

You can get a 6M in all trim levels of this car. Though on the Sport hatch you cant get the sunroof with the manual...

Iam trying to decide between this and toyota corolla 2012-2014 but i{ve been reading that these toyotas have unintended acceleraration problems.. overall all i need is comfort and reliability 95% of time will be city driving as well

No worries the Toyota fixed that stuff. Corollas aren’t bad. Try the newest generation if possible to avoid the 4 speed auto and just get an update

Honestly Hyundai makes pretty decent steering. Better than Toyota, at least. No, it does not steer as nicely as a Mazda or Honda, but pretty decent for a budget car.
@Jakeman21642
@Jakeman21642 8 жыл бұрын
+David Downing No....not really. Newer Toyotas just have slightly numb steering (any 2014+ model is fine) but Hyundai still tunes their electric power steering to be VERY artificially heavy yet still pretty vague when it comes to feel. Pretty much anything else in this class (Fit, yaris, Fiesta) is going to drive better and probably run laps around this car when it comes to reliability.

+Jakeman21642 That's true, I'm just used to driving buicks and old fords that have very mushy steering

nukka200 I wouldn't go that far. I never said it was nice, I said it was decent, for a cheap car. Something from Ford or Honda will have much better steering.

Is this car worth getting? which are his pros and cons? i'm going for the sedan automatic version, though
@Jakeman21642
@Jakeman21642 9 жыл бұрын
ChrisPTY507 I wouldn't say don't buy this car but for the amount of money you can buy one of these brand new you can get a WAY nicer car that's a couple years old. It has a spacious interior, ride is somewhat comfortable and it offers some nice things standard. That being said the ride is also pretty loud, it looks cheap and you really are missing out on a lot. I would give the hatchback (Better looking and offers more) with a stick (the auto transmission is LAZY) a good test drive but I would also give the Honda fit or even a Ford Fiesta a shot first.

Jakeman21642 I need a cheap car with decent qualities. Honda is expensive, i need a car with maintenace price as cheap as the accent, but with some nice things on it. Aside from honda and ford...do you have any other option for the same range of price?
@Jakeman21642
@Jakeman21642 9 жыл бұрын
ChrisPTY507 Take a look at the Kia Rio too. Its basically the same car but just a little nicer. Also take a look at a CPO Civic, Fit or even an Elantra. It will cost the same or maybe even cheaper, be just as much to maintain and overall would be a better car, if you are still set on getting the Accent then go for it because its still a pretty good car and is WAY better than the old ones. Just personally I prefer the hatch because you can load it up with alloy wheels, sunroof and other goodies.

+Jakeman21642 please give your 2 cents on this one. Consider this-> requirement is to have a car for 2 yrs (max mileage 30k miles, 20k on highway and 10k in city). 2014 used camry/corolla + mechanic expenses + more probability of problems loses over 2016 accent + full period warranty covered + negligible problems. is this the right way to look at things? I might be making serious mistake going for this one, I am just not sure what to do :( it seems that this is not a popular car to the point of making me feel like a stupid for going for it. There are no test drive reviews etc for 2016 model. looks like literally no one goes for accent anymore. damn.
