LG Electronics (LG) today unveiled its newest Smart TV platform at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. webOS, which was purchased from Hewlett-Packard in March last year, has been reinvented and reintroduced as LG's new Smart TV platform. The new operating system offers an intuitive user interface for an experience that is both seamless and refreshingly uncomplicated, based on years of experience collected by the webOS team. Furthermore, the new platform makes it extremely easy for developers to create applications and enhances the compatibility of LG's Smart TVs with other devices.

i have LG 42'' LB582V which is 2014 model Smart TV. But they provide me old remote control and old software. So how do you explain that?

Well, their advertising is miles better than Palm/ HP's who always failed to explain what their devices could actually do. Still, since these webOS powered TVs are selling well, I see no reason to not make a LG webOS powered smartphone to unify the experience in a few years. Palm webOS, HP webOS, and now LG webOS.

I recently bought a LG 49UF850T, I cannot set the my region as it only shows middle east and Africa. No Content Store App and no where to login to my account which I set on LG Smart World up with my laptop. PLease Help

+‫القيمنق العرباني‬‎ Only Android TV, Apple TV have a orginal apps for KZfaq, the others company just have a 3 parts build is why man dont buy a LG TV. You should try out a Sony Bravida, Philips, or Sharp next wave of buying a TV.

You don't need a flash player on your television, just go on your laptop. Besides, even if it had a flash player, how would you? TV remotes never have all the keys from a keyboard: its just impractical.

Thats adobe's fault for not letting flash player run on mobile devices, therefore smart tvs as well.

I'm really frustrated with the WebOS currently I have, This webOS don't have KZfaq or Browser too. Instead you guys please look for the android version (Note: as per my knowledge LG don't have Android Version) which is far better than WebOS, I have tried to many ways to contact support but no reply. so, very poor services. Also, people who develops the support apps don't prefer WebOS as LG WebOS support don't provide proper updates for old versions. What else I can say... AFTER 2-3 years of buying LG tv with WebOS, you will feel the same as I'm feeling now, because world goes ahead and LG WebOS stays the same... LOL I have "42'' LM6690 Cinema 3D Smart TV" but the WebOS on this TV is too old, and have not received any updates for that webOS. Current Version of WebOS is 04.42.08, Is there any way to update my WebOS with Current WebOS, because My TV has many features but due to Old WebOS I'm not able to utilize them properly.

This is only available to 2014 LB series. If your TV doesn't have this webOS, then it means you have bought an older TV. Anyway. I don't know if LG will bring this OS on the older TV's.

1.This television do not support Flash player! You cannot see videos like on your PC!!! But it has better picture from Sony and that is a big plus!!! Also this television does not support until yet simultaneously analog audio output with the embedded TV speakers!! 2. It support only 32GB HDD, this is not good if you like to record a lot of thinks 3.My TV has also the problem that it cannot display TELETEXT on same channels!! 4.If you have a scart device like DVD recorder ACTIVE you cannot change from scart to TV Channel easy! You set Live TV and it displays again Scart input ! You must press channel up or down so you can see tv channel!!! 5.The TV cannot hold the setting for the str ( subtitles)

Not all of LG's smart TVs run on WebOS. Check the label to make sure you didn't buy the wrong kind.

LG has confirmed that 2014 TVs running webOS 1.0 WILL get a software update to 2.0, backtracking on a previous statement made during CES that 2014 TVs won't get it. Bravo, LG!

We *don't* want our TVs hooked up to the internet where they can be hacked. How long is LG going to provide firmware updates with security fixes for the devices?? Only "this year's" model? Last year's model? And what are consumers supposed to do when the TV is "no longer supported"? Buy, buy, buy again?! Zero Internet = Zero security issues.

Sidney Jones *Anything* hooked up to the internet is just a security disaster waiting to happen. All it takes is for someone to hack the Camera in the SmartTV posting pictures of little Johnny and the lack of security will get the attention it deserves. We don't need hidden "time bombs" in yet-another-device.

Ah . . . I didn't realize that TV's have Cameras. Mine doesn't, so perhaps I'm behind the times. LOL I don't have a Camera mounted on my PC.

Sidney Jones With SmartTV including apps such as Skype and the ability for consumers to purchase add-on cameras the convenience card usually over-shadows the security card. :-/
