One thing I've always loved about MB are their V8s. Even with turbos, this thing sounds nasty. The 4.7 has held up pretty well, given how complicated MBs are.(obviously this aint a M156 63, but for what it is, yes!) Almost close to sounding pure American.

Their NA and supercharged v8s sound much better from factory, the turbo v8s they make (and other German manufacturers) require a straight pipe like this to sound good imo. The turbo v8s from factory sound horrible imo

@@fadedsoul23 true! Not everyone can be spoiled like us with Hellcats, but the old N/A MB V8s had outstanding sound quality once they opened up. Even the old 4.3 and 5.0L V8s had a nice rumble.

I have the same engine M278 on Mercedes GL500 x166 true dual with with cat delete, resonator delete for true dual & same as Hamann GLE63s mufler with valve control for straight pipe. You can find in shorts the sound of my monster its louder 😂

This is one of my dream cars,the cls 550,but, I don't think that it should sound like a race car.... however, I absolutely love the sound, but, in my opinion, not on a luxury car like this ? I'm just saying.....👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 nothing wrong with personal choice and preference....

He should pass, if the two smaller resonators are indeed resonators and not secondary cats he’ll be alright, they left the main two on

Why did the owner leave the most restrictive part of the car on there (the cats) lol… I guess they only care about sound. Gotta delete those cats, get some headers, and a good ECU & TCU tune, then it’ll really move.

Won’t pass emissions if you delete the cat… plus now it’s got a Dme tune and sounds much better and way faster

Just finished my exhaust day before yesterday. Exact same setup as this. Gains aside, it sounds amazing. You won't regret it.

@@jamesholt8636 No Xpipe. I removed all the resonators. The set of resonators that are after the cats are resonators as well. They're not cats. So don't forget them. Then I replaced it with 2.5 " pipe and ended it with matte black quad tips. The tips are 2.5'-3.0'. That's the only size that fit. I'm on vacation but I'll post a video when I get home.

If you want power gain just get the ecu flashed no need for a loud exhaust just got mine done and it has 530hp and 630 torque

Stop calling it straight piped if it's not straight pipes .. you are muffler experts ... Straight pipes mean no resignators, mufflers or catalytic converters
