Gordon Bombay Oh I know - it’s ridiculous. A buddy of mine has an s550 with catless long tubes paired to the Corsa xtreme catback, and everyone says mine is just as loud; his is rasp while mine is bass. I’ll upload a clip

Congrats on your new ride bro! You can find a catless x pipe out there; I just know that AM discontinued this particular one. They all sound the same. It’s the particular set of resonators I have on here that gives it that distinct sound. I appreciate your compliment man, and do hope to see some videos posted of your 2013 5.0!

Apologies for the delayed response buddy. I purchased the x pipe along with the Roush mufflers off of AmericanMuscle.com, and the Dynomax resonators from a local shop. No drone with this setup; it sounds very good, just very loud. Best of luck with your '14 GT!

Srun97 thanks man! I absolutely love the way this sounds. I’ve got Roush axlebacks right now, and I’m about to pick up an o/r x pipe. So the two factory resonators that are after the mid pipe on each side were replaced with these, right?

I’ve heard people that just completely deleted the resonators, and it seems way too much. Yours sounds just the right amount of loud and raspy. Anyway I could see the see underside of the car? I’m trying to duplicate this setup

harleydavidson2014 Thanks dude, I’m thankful to have ended up with the perfect setup (imo) on my first go-around. Don’t have any pics of the system rn. Honestly, just search images for resonator-swapped setups that match your car model, that way you’ll get an idea of what needs to be done. All you’re doing is removing the stock resonators and putting Dynomax 24251s in their place.

Tbh with you, this setup is loud pretty much all of the time. If you’re strictly installing the Roush axle-backs without removing cats or resonators, it will only be loud when you’re putting the “go” pedal down. Loud is subjective; I recommend you attend some local car meets and find someone running the setup you’re looking for.

Hi I have 2014 all stock with just roush axlebacks. Cold start is loud no matter what but once that baby heats up to optimal temp it's fairly quiet unless your doin pulls like 3000 rpm plus. You can still hear that you got a v8 under the hood even just cruising (with windows rolled down) and at idling but for me it's a gets a little too quiet sometimes, which was why I'm lookin to do a resonater delete or somethin else. And no you won't get in trouble for the exhaust at least for roush axlebacks unless you live in Cali cause their laws are weird.

@@gallants4527 For you, I don’t think removing JUST the resonators would satisfy you. Recommend going with high flow cats and downsizing the resonator size by a couple inches. This will be loud and very aggressive, but not over the top.

@@whipplejosh Neither; both are way overpriced. Flowmaster Outlaws and the Roushes are nearly half the price and sound better. All four of these axle backs are roughly the same volume, especially once the cats are removed. Trust me, I love my cars stupid loud, but if you remove the resonators you will be sorry. Did it once with my current setup. Never. Again.

Man, if you really want me to answer this question honestly and fully, I’ll end up writing a damn thesis statement and end up putting your ass to sleep! Just do some basic research on specific car/exhaust communities & forums. If you’re watching/commenting on this video, then you should know what an offroad x pipe is by this point. No catalytic converters, equal distribution of exhaust gases, reduced scavenging, Loud. Power. Efficient mitigation of exhaust gases results to more power, as well as a smoother sound with higher frequencies at aggressive rpms. An easy choice over an h-pipe (if you have half a brain.) Also, BBK is simply another brand of x-pipe with a slightly different design than your traditional x-pipes, giving it a slightly different sound (more echo, rasp, just a hair louder, unique tone.) It’s the “clamshell” design of the BBK which differentiates it from all the others.

HuffStang Thanks man, my flowmaters drone too but not that bad, I’m thinking of doing a cat delete with a o2 sensor spacer for the CEL it will throw and the 9” dynomax resonators like you have or stock resonators. I bet a cold start on your car sounds wicked.

Dark Knight 5.0 Yeah man, cold starts are something special with this setup! The stock resonators have the same tone as the dynomax 9” but with a little less volume. Dynomax keeps it loud, but eliminates rasp.
