I think it's a bit misleading to say that it's easy to ride because you don't have to put your feet on the ground. The tilt lock is a tool, it isn't a crutch. If you don't know how to use it properly, it can actually make you more likely to drop the bike. IMO, until you get in a ton of practice, it's best to pretend the tilt lock doesn't exist. Just use it when you've parked and are preparing to get off the machine to walk away. When you come to a stop, put your feet down like you would any other bike, and be prepared to balance the weight if you make a mistake with the tilt lock. Don't get me wrong, I have an MP3 and enjoy it. No clutch, so you don't have to deal with that. It's remarkably stable on iffy surfaces, corners like a dream, and can go highway speeds with ease. With the tilt lock engaged I can move it around the garage without help. But make no mistake, the machine comes with its own set of quirks and challenges, especially if you're short. Even if you don't have to have a motorcycle license to drive it, I would highly recommend a class.

Help please ! Can i press and hold the Tilt lock button into lock position ( such as in emergency) before i come on a full stop rather than clicking it once after the light comes on ?

I have a 2012 MP3 500 Sport. The engine has a similar claimed maximum horsepower (40) but the new scooter is heavier; is the performance affected? Piaggio say they have tuned the exhaust for a nicer sound but it sounded very similar on the video. Did you notice an improvement?

I own a sport touring 350. Received a recall notice for a potential ABS failure. Two months later, the repair part hasn't arived at my dealer. Piaggio.....

ok review, but as others mentioned there are other manufacturers with the same suspension solution. Piaggio were arguably the first to bring it to a mass market, but this type of solution pre-dates the scooter implementation by some years. I ride an mp3 and love it, it's my daily commute vehicle through London. mine is a 2011 so doesn't have the ABS, however it's still very stable. The stability however can be deceiving..don't ride these scooters feeling that your invulnerable, if you do you'll come off. if you try and be clever at red lights and use the suspension lock, you'll not only look like an idiot but you'll drop the scooter..put your feet down and drive safely. I was planning to upgrade to the newer MP3 model with ABS however I believe that the Peugeot Metropolis is now a frontrunner and a serious contender for my hard earned money.

If the top box costs over £300 I can imagine how much that front suspension replacement will cost not to mention everything else, I'll stick with the scooter thanks.

The 500cc is the only version you ever want. The difference between my 2009 250ie and my 2016 500ie is night and day. The 500 can hold highway speeds very easily but not the 250. You must certainly know how to ride. Make no mistake, the 500 is a motorcycle that only requires a car license, at least in the United States. The stabilizer should only be used after already stopped at a light or intersection. Don’t use it if you’re going to park your bike for long periods. Use the center stand. The 500 has a taller seat because the wheels are larger 13”. My at 5-7’ cannot flatfoot at a stop.

Hm, I still like the styling of the Fuoco 500 better. :-/
