@@thedungeondelver Yes..way over..I knew when we got him from U of Houston...oh boy...here we go again, another fine pick..rebuilding excuses.. truth be known his 11-2 season our first year was all Johnny. Sumlin was only into the swag of the position i.e. personal recruiting helicopter etc..He recruited with promises of 2 yrs the NFL. So, always rebuilding. I was ready to get rid of him end of 2nd year. Fakes a racial hate letter to himself - this guy looks more like a conman than a football coach Fired now from Arizona..with another buyout...... rumor Saban has met with Sumlin in January....didn't care enough to know why.

@@rolltide9897 yeah we were too amped and no one was really focused on tasks hence the 5 turnovers. Also, nobody was fond of Bateman starting ahead of Coker. NOBODY liked that. Coaches realized it but the hole was already dug too far. The way we came back on them is telling of how we should've blown them to pieces from the jump.

Rewatching this game makes it seem a lot closer than I remember it being. A&M probably would have had a chance to win this game had Allen not throw 3 pick sixes.

Old age man. It happens. He was one of the best to ever do it and I give him a pass for his mistakes at the end of his career because of his age. Gary? Not so much. He’s so anti-Alabama and it’s not even disputable because it’s so blatantly obvious.

@@thomasroyal6260 I agree with the first part lol. Verne has one of the greatest voices of all time. However, Gary is not anti-Bama. Every fan base thinks he's anti-[insert their team's school here].

Came out after the game that Allen's shoulder was hurt and Sumlin still put him out there over a suspended Kyler Murray

Crazy how legendary he became after this in the 2018 CFP semifinal in Miami he threw for over 300 yards on us and couple scores and did not turn the ball over and won a heisman.

This was debatably the worst team under Saban to win a title. They were still dominant on defense and had a good enough offense to win shootouts when needed.

Dude, what? Worst was definitely 2017 to win a title... this team had a legit NFL defense. Probably the greatest RB to ever play at UA (and looks like a future hall of famer), Ridley (another now All-Pro), and a very athletic Stewart. Coke was the only "setback" and that's only because the guy never had a chance to sit in one system and develop. This team was great. The loss vs. ole miss was an anomaly, we were too hyped and unfocused and the QB decision made a lot of dudes feel some type of way. Clemson would've destroyed anybody else in the NC that season.

Worst officiating crew in a pathetic conference. Shaggies had multiple late hits, hits out of bounds, face masks, and offsides every 5th play but no calls
