After ditching my 20 Yr. old car, this feels like luxury; quiet, well dampered, and with heated leather(ish) seats. The materials, for me, are not an issue. It is all functional, well - designed and assembled.

Definitely Suzuki Vitara! It's very, very affordable car, extremely generous in equipment level, esp. GL+ (EU petrol motor version with touchpad, cruise control, rear camera, el. adjustable mirrors, automatic air conditioning...)! It's also very interesting car to drive, with practical, comfortable and spacious interior, and very distinctive design! And it has has real life low fuel consumption!

The absolute King of small SUV. Shame no longer available in US and his territorys. We miss you....

I bought one of the first new Vitara and have over 200000 km on the clock Only cost I have had are brakes and tyres window wipers and that is it .a splendid fuel economy and very reliable .

I got my stunning Vitara from my local Suzuki dealer in Inverness last month, 2 years old with 16k on the clock and 3 service stamps, Cosmic Black, I totally love it. I had put it through the car wash every week, until two vehicle tech mates told me never to put black car through a mechanical car wash as it destroys the paint. Just got an SPTA Buffer and ceramic Acrylic Wax to polish and protect the black paint, now its looking like new, ceramic/acrylic wax does a great job.

Suzuki no longer sells vehicles in the usa. But, it is a treat to see and hear the lovely Rebecca. If only she would race at Watkins Glen and we could see her in person.

I’ve the 2017 SZ-T 1.6 petrol. (Red, black roof). Only just clocked over 40,000 miles. It’s never skipped a beat. Sure it’s not the classiest car inside. But has all you need. Including Apple CarPlay. It’s comfy to drive. Reliable. And economical. With a very spacious boot. I’ve owned SUV type cars from more popular brands (QQ, Juke, P2008, Q2) and they all gave me electrical problems and bodywork issues. Not the Vitara. I’d definitely recommend, it won’t ‘blow your mind’ with driving dynamics - but it’s not meant to. And everything else it does very well.

I love Suzukis little engines . They are fun and willing to get you on the go.

vitara is fuel efficient,reliable and highly suitable for hilly zones and off roading,only drawback of this Suv is when your height is above 6 feet ,the rear seat passenger remains uncomfortable( leg room is compat).

I bought a brand new Suzuki Samurai in 1992 and it was 7900 bucks, brand new. I kept it for 10 years and only replaced the tires and the muffler. It was awesome in the snow and mud, and I took it into the woods like a quad runner to drag deer out during hunting season. It was nice and compact. I wish they still made them,I'd buy one now.

Just replaced out 9 year old low milage Grand Vitara 1.9ddis turbo diesel with the new Vitara 1.6 SZT manual petrol. Big difference in the fuel economy, a huge plus and faster of course. Lower road tax in UK - £150 a year cheaper than the old one! Super easy and efficient Sat Nav and slick gear box. Great reversing camera display and radar breaks which sound a warning and even break for you if you don't react fast enough to a car suddenly breaking or coming too close. Miss the extra height on the Grand Vitara which is a couple of inches higher and the storage such as the centre console box and there's less boot space too given it's a hatchback and slopes so packing large suitcases and bulky items mean putting seats down whereas the old GV coped better. Pros and cons to both. Generally a great SUV for the money (£21k) and went for metallic grey which looks great. Better than a Nissan Juke - looks like a Frog!! So far so good!

I live on the Edge hi Moreland I have a Suzuki Vitara 2. 4 mmix model has good ground clearance 4 off road and snow which at the moment is about two foot deep I had one of the first Suzuki SJ 410 a little mountain goat would go anywhere I feel Suzuki I've left the Jeep market which they were known for join the SUV market which the state car with a bit of extra grip on a wet Road not had any problems with the Vitara still on the original exhaust and only just had to replace the battery due to the freezing cold conditions feels well built unlike the new Vitara

News articles say Suzuki's couldn't compete in the U.S. market. I am more of a skeptic. These new Suzukis get crazy high mpg, i think the real reason is they were a treat to other car manufacturers and US interests.

please dont compare it with Nissan Juke. That car looks like a jacked up toy car and its super ugly. Vitara looks like a proper small Suv, rugged and masculine.

Nice review. Conclusions! Don't buy it.

This is one of the WORST cars I've ever driven... Honestly, I prefer having a constant bad hangover with a headache, than drive a Vitara... The interior plastics are terrible. Very cheap, very ugly, very nasty to the touch. And get this... The door panel moves when you close, or open the window! What car does that?! And I'm not done with the windows. The Vitara has a button to lock the windows and prevent passengers from opening them like every other car, but... Here is the catch, you can't operate passenger windows either! Dumbest design ever. You have to unlock the passenger windows before you (the driver) can operate them and the passenger windows are not automatic! What car doesn't have one-touch automatic windows in 2017?! The folding mirrors are noisy, the automatic gear lever sounds horrible when you move it, the parking sensor sound is too loud and sounds like a life support machine. The roof lining isn't soft enough and the sun visors are plastic and feel brittle. And touch screen volume?! Terrible idea. The automatic gearbox is garbage. It shifts as rough as a city bus, it hesitates and to get kickdown, you need to really stomp on the gas pedal. There is little sound insulation so the harder you drive the Vitara, the more noise you get. I'd hate to drive this down the Autobahn at 200+ kmh and try to have a conversation with someone.
