I am always freaked out when these non audience attended clips end, I expect standing o's and flowers thrown on the stage. Every one of these gets applause of pure delight in many living rooms, mine included.

I'd just like to add an atta girl to Magali Datzira's steady bass work on this mega-up tempo jazz standard. Way to go Magali!!!

That rhythm section really had their work cut out for them, but they delivered. Great job by all, specially Magali and Carla.

Wow. How is this even possible! I'm told it can't get any more challenging than playing at the "triple-espresso" speed of bebop, yet here they do it, each and every band member pulling it off flawlessly. Needless to say, it sounds great and gives us all a boost of energy.

This is not just a series of great solos by a few talented soloists, but a solid performance by the whole band. Each and every player (from the soloists to the youngest kids) plays with such a sharp rhytm and phrasing! Not to mention the wonderful, grooving rhytm section.

Life is a lot like jazz, It's best when you improvise. And life is beautiful. Right her, right now. WOW!

This is an ambitious undertaking bravo Joan. The 3rd solo shined the most. The reed solos were also excellent. The band was tight, can't ask for much more.

Charlie is listening. Another great arrangement from these youngsters who seem to get better and better over the years. Nifty bass playing and the trombone solos were fine. The sax solo was Charlie revisited. Job well done!!!!

Big band bebop. An excellent arrangement of a tune associated eith Charlie Parker. Brilliant soloists. Barcelona can rival USA as a jazz production line.

wow. i sat up in my chair when the first ttrumpet solely began....which pro is playing with them todday?! joan mar....he is by far the best trumpet player on the team, although i am still more partial to victor's sound and style...and the elsa armegou is turning out really fine as well. i still prefer andrea on sax than trumpet...p.s. i sure love rita's horn playing...always so warm and interesting...the drummer on this is very find as well, stronger than the other student drummer...

this is a musical question, NOT trying to offend ....does it seem like Joan Mar gets a bigger sound on his trumpet than Alba or Andrea. I love both of their horn playing, for lots of reasons, but there are times where his sound just sounds bigger and louder, in this case when he stood up to play. maybe i have just not seen them in as many uptempo pieces (just listened to Alba's lovely playing on Yesterdays.) if so, is that a function of just being a bigger person, larger lungs? thanks...and again, plz no need to defend, its a music enquiry. i love all the music i have heard from everyone in this band over the years on the recordings, including when these kids were really kids.
