This is the 2015 BMW i8 hybrid supercar! The all new BMW i8 has a lot of technology and has a respectable weight for having both an electric motor and engine. The i8 doors are gullwing which are one of the coolest aspects of this car. The rear tail lights and design for aerodynamics is also very cool. It is quiet on the start up and only when you floor it can you hear the engine and it sounds pretty beefy for a 1.5L!

You spoke all facts. I have friends with lambos and the rest and each time they drive the i8 its a show stopper. I'm enjoying my i8 and most hate comes from those who dont own one and cant even get a civic off the lot. so they come here on moms computer and hate. lol That r8 iss sweet!!!

Love those wheels. would like to get one of these and see if it's possible to modify it and beef up the HP to around 430 or so. it's quick, but just needs a touch more punch!

Yes there is. Unfortunately, there is no simple way to do so. BMW has already pushed their engine to 25psi of boost. Any boost pressure above 29psi (390-400hp) would blow the internals and turbochargers. This would require an extensive aftermarket solution, like forged pistons, piston rings, concords, camshafts, upgraded headers, fuel pump and turbochargers. However, this is not so simple on the B38. You see, there are not many aftermarket parts for the B38 engine itself, since if you wana push 250hp+ on the gas engine, you might as well have bought a B48 (330i, 430i, 530i etc.). This is especially for the i8, as many see no potential in it. However, many parts like the fuel pump, pistons and conrods are interchangable from the B48 and B58. It would be much more expensive though, since you are paying for a 4 piston/conrod kit instead of 3. Turbochargers could be simply bought from any universal turbo manufacturer, but a custom exhaust manifold/header is needed.

@@petermcmonagle7000 No idea, but my final conclusion is, it is definitely worth 100k+, just morons don't like it due to the 0-60 in 4.2 seconds thing...when it outpaces any normal car on the road, plus electric is quicker to accelerate for 100meters, so even faster than the Lambo in some metrics... There is a lot of hidden tech the average mouth breather will not have clocked, due to it being somewhat hidden, but this is a serious, serious piece of advanced tech...love it...
