2015 Chevy Silverado LTZ Shaking at High Speed

Buyer Beware!!!!!
2015 Chevy Silverado LTZ with V8 5.3 engine, 4 wheel drive, crewcab. At speeds over 70mph entire truck shakes. Slight road imperfections exacerbate the issue. Note* we also drove a 2017 Ford crewcab with a V8 and we drove the exact same route and that truck only handled maybe 10 percent better than the Chevy. We also drove our 2014 - 300S on that route and it was bumpy. On better roads and under 70mph, the truck rides like a million bucks!
We still bought the truck. Lol.

I have a 2016 silverado and it was doing this from 60-80 mph and did pretty much everything, until I took the driveshaft off and took it to get tested for balance issue, and turned out it was off by 1/16 so got it set to 0 and put new u joints and truck drives as smooth as glass, Dodge Ram 1500 and gm 1500 trucks use the same driveshaft by AAM so they have the same problem. Hope this helps everyone

Hi. My 2015 gmc does the same thing . I just try to ignore it. Sucks though !

For me it was the motor mounts , had them changed and stopped the issue

Rear axle shafts are getting replaced on mine for being out of round. Hopefully that fixes it

Jesse Swedell, no it was never resolved. We actually bought the truck and have learned to live with it. That road is a good example of how bad it can* get but it isn't always that bad. We didn't realize that at the time. The entire stretch of road we were on was all bad (it looked fine but was obviously not flat and smooth), but we had to stay within 30 minutes or so of the dealership. Great truck otherwise.

IDK if you still have the truck, but if the drive shaft does not do the trick then replace the rear axles with a good quality aftermarket ones like Yukon gear. The set is like 250.00 but the original axles may be out of round at the hub where the alloy centers itself. When did the shaking start? I have a 2018 and it has 2K miles. I've taken it up to 90 and it is real smooth.

@@Krystle-cl8uw Yeah, even though some roads look good they can actually be very bad. FYI, the stock Goodyear eagles are crap. Had to have one replaced due to high road force. Besides the tires there is a tsb out for transmission fluid flush and replace with mobil 1. Had mine done and all good now.

I'm now at 30K miles and my truck still rides smooth. I replaced the stock Good Year LS2 tires with my favorite Cooper Discoverer 275 60R 20 and she runs even smoother now. I have the 8 speed trans with the 6.2. I'm still running the original trans fluid from the factory.

There is a class action lawsuit against this with GMC. The dealers have to fix it or start writing checks. None of the dealers want the vehicles back.
