UPDATE: It has been a month since I have changed the Leak Detection Pump and the "Engine Light" has not been come back. Hope this help!

Thank you, definitely helpful. I have the ‘15 Chrysler 200. Check engine light came on and when I plugged in my obd scanner it had the P0440 code. I replaced the gas cap since it’s the cheapest of the possible fixes. Reset the light and the gas cap light came on a day and a half later, followed by the check engine light with P0456. I just ordered the Evap pump and will have it tomorrow and I’m fairly confident it will be the needed fix. I’ve dealt with faulty purge valves before, and they typically come with misfires and lean codes and or rough idling or rough starts. I’m having No Performance issues and no loss in fuel economy, so the Evap pump will more than likely fix it. I can either replace a gas cap for $10, along with a $29 Evap pump, and even if I also replace the purge valve, that’s still less than the $110 that a shop would charge to do a smoke diagnostics test and tell me to replace a $29 part.. sounds like a no brainer

it's actually called ESIM (Evaporative System Integrity Module) , the Leak Detection Pump was on prior models.

hey guys just want to tell you if it's a small leak usually purge valve or o ring around tank where gas cap is a large leak which is the evap system integrity module but will throw both small and large evap codes the other two issues will throw just small leak usually

I replaced it along with another small part in the same area. Codes went away now they came back with P0440. My car is 07. I should have just replaced the whole vapor canister as it comes with everything. Also bad fuel injector can damage it and cause the code

after the item was replaced, did the Check Light go away immediately or did you have to drive it 70-100 miles?
