You've explained what Lexus in their 2015 handbook in the UK failed to mention which is the use of the switches for the O/S mirrors & that you must have the L or R hand switch down for the mirror to lower automatically when put into reverse, which is the reason I ended up on the internet to find out. Thank You I preferred watching & listening to you rather than reading their 148 page handbook.

I own a 19 year old RX the car is indestructible under normal use it's never left me stranded and I will buy another. Looks are subjective so if you don't like the way it looks don't buy it simple as that but you will not find a more dependable vehicle I will be getting another one and probably handing my old one down but I probably will skip the F Sport version not worth it.

Thanks for the informative review Cameron, but a quick question - has Lexus gotten rid of the "mouse and click" centre control and replaced it for that new knob that is similar to what is seen in BMI/Audi? Because when I go on the website and pull up the RX 350 it looks different (still has the old one)...

The mouse comes with the GPS system without it you get the knob

Hi, I have seen some RX 350s with the round control knob and others that have the rectangular control knob. Could someone please tell me what the difference is and which is better? Thanks, Tony

Tony Gruber Yes. Yours is round. The other version is rectangular. Better is the one you prefer.

The knob is in the dealers office they sometimes keep them to prevent theft or damage if you test drive the car they put the knob back on

Look at all the money wasted by Lexus, who should always listen to KZfaq commentators and KZfaq design experts rather than their own marketers and their own design team. Lexus could have ended with half the sales they did and be equal to BMW the X3 or maybe even less, like with the X4.

For the money, I would get the BMW X3 or 2016 Hyundai Tucson over this. Lexus' recent designs have all looked ugly and uninspiring. The front grille looks very weak and lacks any sort of passion. Lexus needs to replace its design team ASAP.

Compare long term dependability of the shitboxes you listed! Better yet, buy one and enjoy the repair bills and taking off work to take them to the shop on a regular basis!!! People are so superficial these days!!!

The center console looks outdated and ugly. And the front design looks tacky as hell. Lexus is a lost cause.

David Bennett I live in Japan so I know the auto industry trends here. 99% of rich Japanese people prefer to buy German premium brands such as BMW and Mercedes, not Lexus. Lexus is not seen as premium even in Japan.

Shirazi I agree. Lexus is a poor brand. I live in Japan and most rich Japanese people prefer to buy BMW and Mercedes, not Lexus.
