I install the Idoing Android Head unit on my 2016 Subaru WRX. This unit will fit the 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021 Subaru WRX and STI. It is a direct replacement, so all you have to do it remove your stock head unit/radio and center console, and the Idoing unit replaces it! This video is a how to, an install, an unboxing, and a brief intro of a review. Back up camera solved as well!

Just a heads up, there is a specific version for the 2015 model WRX that is different from the 2016+ kit. The stock stereo is different between them. I got mine for the 2015 at WRXDaily where they give you an option to choose between the two versions. Hope this helps.

Question I have the Harman Kardon package and installed the Idoing head unit and lost sound or i have sound in the back speakers but the out put is nothing like it was with the head unit. I reached out to Idoing and they said it was normal

How is this holding up for you? I bought one in October and it died 1 month later. Screen won't turn on... Have you noticed bugs or glitches? I had to reset mine several times. :(

How is the included mic (the pin in the front of the unit)? Also, did you get the steering wheel controls to work?

Is there a way to remove that silver trim? The Piano Black would look better. I plan to wrap mine if removing isn't an option.

Hey man I just installed mine everything working great BUT there is like a annoying sound/hissing sound In the background whenever I start driving and when music is playing too . You know how I can fix that ?

remove the rca cable if you aren't using an amp or sub. it causes interference.

Also do u think the olm EZ subaru dash mount with the scosche magnet will fit with this? It's the in dash mount that sits in the little crack between the HU and the trim to the right bottom side of the hu basically just above the ac controls

@@yeahokaycoolcool no my brother In law did though and it fits like a glove..its tighter to get it into the dash opening (the hesdunit is) but it fits very well...I unfortunately had to trade in the subie for a family vehicle :(

@@AutoEnthusiast I have an alpine universal inline power pack for the sport speakers and tweeter currently installed with a pioneer touch screen..I plan on upgrading to this idoing..any idea if I should keep the in line power pack..from what I've seen the rms for the idoing HU is 45x4..is that true? Cuz if so then it's the same as the power pack

Not at all! Nothing really "voids" your warranty, parts just can be the cause of a warranty denial claim by Subaru. But just to say it, if you break something while installing this, Subaru won't cover it.

Hi, I just got my idoing head unit today for my 2015 sti and everything works except for the backup camera. When I throw it in reverse it still shows on the factory display up top.. can you or anyone here give me the fix to this please ??? Thanks again

I talked to someone from idoing support, and he told me unfortunately they have issues with the 2015 models not working, you can do two different things to make it work, but it involves splicing into the factory wires up top where the factory camera shows on the small screen. Contact them for the diagram and it shows you what wires to tap into

Yea it’s bullshit, idk why they only have issues with the 2015 ones, but it seems to be the common problem with just those. I have an 2018 mfd and it still doesnt work either. It’s just the way the factory wired the harness some reason

It’s because 2015 is the only year they have reverse cam up above on small screen. I know there’s a video out there where someone shows how to bring it down I believe it’s just 2 wires it shouldn’t be too hard. 2016 and up they put cam on stereo. Not sure why they thought on 2015 the small screen people would like. But just get some speaker wire and run it down. Try to find video on it it’s pretty simple
