For everyone complaining about racking or shooting delays in pool videos remember that if you're watching this on a computer you can press J to skip 10 seconds back and L to skip 10 seconds forward. K pauses. After clicking on the video twice to pause pause and resume you activate the arrow keys for 5 second skips. If viewing on a mobile device you can double tap the left and right side of the screen to skip forward and backwards 10 seconds.

@dsauce223
@dsauce223 8 жыл бұрын
+Sharivari Most people hate the way he chalks. I chalk about a million different ways myself, so I can't say that it really bothers me personally. You hear this all the time though. I guess I'd rather chalk like Mike than miscue.
@TimZ007
@TimZ007 8 жыл бұрын
+Sharivari It works but seems to waste time. Slows his rhythm and messes up what would be a smooth tempo. He should really be chalking with the left hand at this level of play. Is it necessary to look at the tip every time. I bet it irritates his opponents also. Makes them sit even longer in chair. Some players seem to use this to their advantage though. I find it somewhat unsportsmanlike when players do it myself.

Matches like this are great for the sport, and very entertaining. I hope that there are many more like Corey and Jayson's, as well as Shane and Mike's. My only wish is that they would be played on regulation tables, or perhaps even a 10 footer. I think that the players would probably prefer that as well, as it presents a more significant challenge. Very entertaining though, it was a lot of fun to watch.

can anyone explain to me the logic of cueing where the ball meets the felt and halfway through your final stroke raising the cue to were you actually want to hit the ball? I never understood this but seen a lot a players do it. just a feel style and preference thing i would guess. Bothers me really seems very inefficient... but hey i cant even handle chalk on my ferrule..
@Myrtle04
@Myrtle04 8 жыл бұрын
+Dareld Jolliffe I do it for center ball alignment and for a better end position on my practice stroke. I don't aim for the cue ball so I don't put my tip on the cue ball for my practice stroke. it's easier to explain in person.
@RubSomefastOnIt
@RubSomefastOnIt 8 жыл бұрын
+Cory Siler interesting, thanks. I line up and practice stroke in place. cueing like that that seems like it would be very easy to mess up any side English. it's also interesting that most players have seen do that stop doing it as soon as they have to raise the rear of the cue even a little. I am sure it's just another preference and feel part of the game, not for me that's for sure, but it obviously works for some.

I'm 60 so I was around when the jump cue came out, and the truth is, that the jump cue was more of a novelty and for those saps who couldn't jump with a regular cue. I'm amazed that pros are allowed to use them. They're great players, but to call them better than their predecessors, is a stretch. Their predecessors had no gadgets to help them win, and as for a break cue, most broke with a regular cue stick, not heavier, but much lighter. They counted on arm speed with a phenomenal stroke... so no... not better, just more gadgets. Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of these younger players, but I'd put any of them against the old school players in their prime.

You don't call it because "Your opponent might make you shoot again if the leave is not favorable." That doesn't make sense. If it's not a favorable leave, why would you want to be shooting again anyways? Then again, maybe it's not a favorable leave, but you could play a safety. In that case, wouldn't they just want to play that safe anyways? You're calling it because you may have a chance to make it and shoot again.

I hear people say it comes down to the break.. no shit. Isnt it obvious? Ofcourse. If I break and dont get a shot. And you break and do get a shot. You're gonna win the game..if were both professionals. If you're garbage then it wont matter.. I like how regardless of who won the lag before anyone breaks they give Shane 100% chance of winning lol Dude..on a bar table you have to take extra time on where the cueball is going because if you dont you will scratch. It is super easy to scratch on a bar box. On a big table worry about shape more. On a bar box you don't have to be perfect.. pay attention to the cue ball and scratching/ getting hooked. That's my advice. It's a little table. You arent gonna miss. Just dont scratch and dont hide the cueball.

+The Amurikin Thats true in case there isn't a tournament director or a referee, on the tables outside of TV table this is a true case also, but if a match is streamed on TV table then it should be different, TD & referee should step in, but in the end of the day, our game is a sad game, I love pool but its really a very sad game which is why there isnt much of a coverage in it, not much of a sponsors, no big money, no fame even, only people that plays pool know the players of pool, our game can never be famous, the reason being is small things like this, believe it or not, our game is really sad. go watch snooker, you think this would ever happen in snooker? think again, which is why they got audience, money, sponsors, big events and FAME, everybody even those that dont play snooker know ronnie osullivan, you think it's coincidence? no, its just our game is sad thats all. fuck i love pool but i hate its current state, alot of things should change.

I can't stand bar-box tables. I'm honestly surprised to see that pros still utilize these, from time to time.

SANCTUARY barbox pool is fun and challenging because of clusters

SANCTUARY I can beat a fair amount of my compatriots who play on 9 footers a lot of the time when we play on bar boxes. Bar boxes are a whole different game my friend. Easier to scratch, less room to move around, easier to hook yourself with a smaller margin for error. Although my long shots aren’t on par just yet, position play is much much easier for me when playing on 9 footers, 10 footers, snooker tables, etc.

@@plzitzjustmahcheezits909 absolutely not lol. It's a kids table. Yes its more congested but its easier to shoot your way out of bad position play. Youll see a players flaws accentuated on a 9 footer. The only drawback from playing from 9 to 7 is the slower cloth causes the trajectory of angles to change a little bit like almost like a cloth induced throw. It drags or goes long. But simply put the bar box is for kids. Unless im having a bad day i feel like i can't miss on the bar box and can run out 8 balls fairly easily. On the 9 footer its more like 6 balls before I get outta line. Them 2 feet really change the game

Bar boxes have their place. But it def feels goofy watching them play on that micro ass table. They cant miss. Its just cool watching them skill the cue ball control in the tighter spaces. But yeah 9 foot all day and if I had the chance id shoot on a 10 footer. Oh and I need the pockets to be MIRCO

I know this might be a little late. I see what your talking about how it moved forward. But that was because it dropped mid air forward he didn't touch it with cue stick nice spot tho

+thestcroixkid Never mind the magic rack, jump cues need to go the fck away. Jumping with a full cue, now that's a talent. Jump cues should be made illegal on tour as far as I'm concerned, and I'd like to see them ruled out internationally. My opinion is that there is no room in pool for them at all. Jump with a full cue, like a man would.

+dsauce223 I'm sure that you see that my comment has nothing to do with a short jump cue. Anyway, the magic rack effects ball roll and necessitates moving/lifting/adjusting balls, sometimes just because a player desires it, I have seen it used to cause disadvantage or create advantage. It, at best, is being used inappropriately. I disagree by the way, they already have really light (like 8-10oz.) full length cues made for jumping, I don't own one, but they are just as easy to jump with, if your manhood is at stake, go ahead and use one of those. My guess is you don't jump or don't use a jump cue. Do you mean they should jump with their playing cue? If so, in that line of thinking, they should ban break cues, its easier to break with them, too easy to break and make balls....

+thestcroixkid Well, it's ok that you disagree, that's not a crime. I understand what you mean with the magic rack, and I don't necessarily disagree. However, in terms of jump cues, a jump shot should be a fairly difficult shot to make most of the time. I don't think a break cue is a fair comparison because it is simply used for breaking, which has always been a legal shot and always will be. A jump shot is legal, but certain tips as well as certain lengths have been implemented in pool that in my opinion, make it too easy to accomplish what should be, again, a fairly difficult shot. To answer your question, I do jump rarely, in which case I use a full length house cue. Kicking at a ball should be a bigger part of the game, and that's all I'm really saying.
