Chase, you had an absolutely phenomenal choice of music to showcase the R1. Titans is probably the best song choice, because that's exactly what the R1 is - a titan among leader bikes. The music simply fits.

This is the first US model of a bike I've ever seen that looks perfect stock. It doesn't need anything. At all. You definitely pay for it, but holy hell is it beautiful.

I bought this bike and love this bike. Went from a 2014 R6 to a 2015 R1 and i love it. I ride mine like a bat out of hell. even did 10.2 1/4 mile on at the dragstrip. this bike is awesome.

I bought one. I love it. SCS is the Stability Control, has to do with avoiding slide in a turn. The LIFT control is the anti-wheelie, and has three levels and OFF. and I Enjoy riding this bike on the street, it's fine.

The lights are a deal breaker for me. I would not ever have this R1, Now if they put it out like the 2009-2014 and i'd pick it right up.

I bought this bike this year, and I totally concur with your judgement. It is my first supersports and I was doing the breaking in phase on the streets. And I was like "wow, people enjoy riding like this...?!". Man, it was not easy to control, but the R1 just loves turns and twistys! I do live in Switzerland, so I ride mountain passes all the time. But last week I got on the track for the first time. And it reminded me of a penguin. You know, you see how they walk on land and your first think "that poor thing". But when you see them swim, it is like an angel flying. Same with the R1. On the streets? No, dont see it... I mean, if you like to get damn big fines (and believe me in Switzerland you do not want to get high fines) or lose your license... thats the bike for you. But on the track thats where she comes alive. Even the engine sound. Below 5k its just not sexy, but when you hit the power band at around 8k, she sounds sexy as hell...

The yamaha r series bikes are beautiful. All of them... the r1, r3, and the r6. God I want one.

I actually called about that exact bike at mountain motorsports in TN. They're offering a KILLER OTD price on it right now. I went with a local place instead because they had a matte gray. The r1 is mind boggling. I've never ridden anything else like it.

I've enjoyed all of the First Ride videos you have made, that I have seen so far Chase. All very nicely done as well as being quite informative from a rider's POV, which is what we all are, right? Sure would like to see you expand your First Ride reviews to the ADV, Cruiser, and Dual Sport classes. While the Naked and Sport Bike classes are probably the most popular, the "tastes" of many riders, like myself, are diverse and quite varied when it comes to bikes - I love 'em all. Keep up the great work, and kudos to Mountain Motorsports for providing the bikes!

Yamaha can make the fan come on at a cooler temp. I changed that on my 2013 R1 and it is much cooler in the hot summer.

I was stuck between the 2015 r1 and 2015 r6. My previous bike was an 2005 r1 so was really leaning toward the new 2015 r1 but I just love how the r6 looks and I use the bike to commute to and from work so the better fuel efficiency of the r6 sealed the deal.
