Another video that will help you understand the components and controls on the latest BMW R1200gs. I have a 2016 BMW R1200gs with 7200 miles. There are a few things I don't like such as the timers for the turn indicators. But many things I do, the Gps system is a must have add on if you get this bike. So far I've been enjoying every minuet riding and experiencing this motorcycle! Enjoy.

Nice review of controls. Just ordered a 1200GSTE and was debating about spending out on the Satnav, but you have convinced me to add onto the bike.

I really wish BMW had a GPS for the GS like my Garmin Zumo 665. It has portable Sirius satellite radio. I am not aware of any other GPS with Sirius. I have had it on my 09 RT for years and can't imagine a road trip without it. It even worked in the entire peninsula of Baja Sur Mexico.

Agree. I just got an GS and of course thought I had to get their GPS. I should have checked to see if my 665 would have fit the cradle ( it does BTW but you can't use the jog dial) and just kept it. There is no reason for the money they get that they could not add the XM radio component. They just need a port for the antenna.

Blinkers don’t go off after a while. They go off after a distance is passed over. Maybe timer is valid when speed is 0kmh or for very slow speed.

Great explanation of the controls. Thanks very much. For my type of long distance riding and fire road, gravel roads type adventures, this is excellent, especially when using the GPS as I'm always the navigator on our trips. This bike is now on my short list. On a side note, what is your inseam? Keep up the great work. I'm hoping as you grow, your video quality and sound will improve. Cheers!

One other neat feature you should be aware of.....In the map view open up the trip computer. It shows all of the CAN BUS info as well as trip data. It also has a large speedo. Try it...you'll like it. Rick

Just another reason the GPS is awesome. Have you seen any other bike have one integrated like this? Besides Harley...

Not aware of any other. Even though Harley's now have a CAN BUS system I don't think much of the info is available on the GPS screen. BMW Rules. I just wish that I was able to configure the thumb wheel to my liking.

You have a hard time using the scroll?

No... scroll works fine. I just wish that I could configure it to my liking. For example I would really like it if the trip computer was available via the thumbwheel.....it is on the K1600 and not the R1200GS. Rick
