Yep, the brushes end up digging into and grooving the surface of the actuator. Mine only has 57k miles, and this has happened. Luckily, I have a warranty that will cover both repairs for $200.

Hi, wonder if you can help me, i purchased this part OEM new. The center part is spinning independently for some reason. Any idea why? Not spinning the valves camshaft.

200usd the ecvvt sproket but need to disasembli the cam shaft

@@tabiasjones9589That's the price of the part. The cost of labor is in the thousands for such a small job. I had one dude tell me the dealership quoted him $7,000 for the job, like what? They are crazy. My car is having the same issue. I'm either gonna do it myself or go down with the ship. Ain't no way I'm shelling that amount of money for this crap.
